Happy Holidays!

I realize I am extremely late doing the mandatory "how our Christmas went" post. Sorry.

Little Button is going to be one spoiled little baby.  She got some Cardinals oneies, some more oneies, some bibs, a cloth book, a sock monkey, gift cards, and a Cardinals receiving blanket.  I'm sure I'm forgetting something too.

I guess in general, Christmas went better than usual.  We didn't play the whole, let's go to every party we are invited to.  We even took some naps last weekend.

Monday mom and I went to the fabric store and between the two of us, we got enough material to make Button about 7 flannel blankets.  I realize kids puke and poop on stuff but really, will she really need a different one for each day of the week?

Tuesday, I got her crib, dresser, and bookshelf ordered.  It should be here sometime soon.  Then, I'll get Matt busy putting it together.  I also ordered a wall decal for her room.

We haven't really thought too much about names yet.  We only found out she was a girl on last Thursday and then we were busy with Christmas and then it was back to work.  I might keep that a secret anyway.

She still moves around a ton and I love it.  Not a day goes by that I am not thankful for her.

I got my mom's Etsy shop started.  We still have to get a bunch of stuff added but you can check it out here  Make sure to check back to see what else will be added.

Hope you all have a fantastic New Year!

For your viewing pleasure

Matt and I went to the doctor Friday afternoon.  We got to hear the heart beating.  It's such a relief every time I hear it.  The sonogram is set to happen Thursday.

You can still do the poll thingamajigger over there. ---->

There have been several people that have been slightly obsessed with seeing pictures of my belly. There is not now, nor will there ever be, pictures of me, pregnant or not, with my bear stomach showing.  Sorry.

The Christmas rat race started for us Saturday.  We went to my Grandparent's Saturday and Matt's Grandparents Sunday.

The first picture comes to you from my Grandpa and Grandma's house.  I had thought that my belly was finally bigger than Matt's.  But looking at this picture, it's hard to say for sure.  I'm pretty sure we were both pushing our belly's out.

And here is a more, somewhat normal picture.

Today, I am 20 weeks pregnant and Baby Button is celebrating by doing flip flops in my tummy.

I absolutely can not wait to find out if the baby is a boy or a girl.  I haven't bought a thing because I wanted to wait until we found out.  Seriously.

Hope you are all having a great week!

Button, School, ect.

I took my last final last night.  I have to have about a 75 on it to get an A in the class.  Hopefully I was able to pull that off.

I'm still undecided on what to do next semester. I really don't want to have to take an evening class.  The class I signed up for in the evenings is about 30 minutes from where I work and 45 minutes from where I live.  I'm due May 7th which is probably about the week of finals.  What if I have little Button in class?

I have a doctor's appointment this Friday.  Hopefully, all will go well.  I still worry all the time.  I'm 99% sure that I feel Button move though.

I only had to call our insurance (Tri-Care) around 37 times to get my first sonogram covered.  As long as the doctor will say that I'm having my next sonogram for a reason that Tri-Care will cover, I will have one on the 22nd.  If not, I'm not doing it.  The first one would have cost around $1400.  No thanks.

I put up a poll on the right sidebar of this page for you to vote if you think Button is a boy or a girl.

My mom had her first craft show this past weekend.  It was a pretty good time.  We did a lot of people watching, sold some stuff, and ate some movie theater popcorn.  You can click here to visit her Facebook page.  My goal is to have her an etsy website made before school starts back up.

I also need to get around to showing you all a picture of my big belly. I eat cookies everyday.  It's amazing to be able to get away with it.

This weekend our holiday family togethernessism begins.  No one better touch my stomach.

Hope you are all having a great week!

Our New Year's Weekend

My weekend started on Wednesday evening. A co-worker from the V texted me Wednesday and said she was sick and wanted to know if I would work for her. Being the sucker I am So, I did. It was a pretty good time. I hadn't worked there in almost two weeks so it was nice to see everyone.

I had already planned on taking Thursday off and I actually got to sleep in. Matt texted me before I woke up but lucky for me, I had set my phone to alarm only. Sucker! When I woke up, I did 75% of my cleaning list and went and got groceries. At one point, I noticed it was strangely quiet. I went into the living room to see what the pups were doing. And this is what I found...

They were all being good. And this is the one and only picture I have of all of them.

Friday I cook my beer cheese soup and some meatballs. We had a small gathering Friday night. And by small I mean, 6 people showed up. 2 of which were my parents. I didn't really mind because the house was still clean and we had a ton of leftovers after the party. Which, in turn, meant that I didn't have to cook or clean the rest of the weekend. Matt was disappointed though.

Here are a few pictures for your viewing pleasure....

Our little party animals. Ozzy went home with Grandma because he's kind of grouchy around strangers.

Matt and I.

Mr. Vinnie and I

Matt and Mr. Vinnie. Even Mr. Vinnie has some beads on. Don't worry, we didn't leave them on him very long.

Today I didn't want to come to work, I must have told Matt that about 10 times on the way here. However, when I got here the HR lady gave me this:

You see, I used to get paid every Friday. The company I work for is switching to a two week pay period. So this Friday, we won't get a check. This $100 is a cash bonus to "help with the transition". I saw no fine print saying it was a cash advance. I didn't really care about the switch but a lot of people are pretty bent out of shape about it.

Hope you are all having a fantastic Monday!

Christmas Recap

Christmas eve I woke up early and made two cheese balls. The recipe said the prep time was 10 minutes. 10 minutes, my ass. More like an hour. It was a mess. I told Matt if anyone complained about them I was throwing them out the patio doors.

After the cheese ball gate 2010, we took a nap. After our nap, we got ready and went to Matt's parents house. The best way for me to have a good time at the in-laws is to drink wine. And drink wine I did. After the gathering at the in-laws, we stopped by my parents. My brother's girlfriend has other places to be Christmas morning so we always exchange gifts with her on Christmas eve.

Christmas morning we woke up and exchanged gifts with each other and the pups. No surprises as far as our gifts went. I got us each new socks and underwear. I bought myself a new day planner. Very exciting. Little Vinnie got some tennis balls and a toy. Ozzy got a blanket and a toy. And Miss Princess got a jacket and a blanket.

Then we went over to my parent's house to open gifts. All 3 pups went with us. I got new dishes, a gas card, and some perfume that I wanted. Matt and I both got Cardinals stocking caps. Matt is wearing his below. Matt got a ton of Menard's cards and a hooded sweatshirt. And a deep fryer.

Then we left all the pups at mom's with her two dogs and went to my uncle's for my dad's side of the family's party. It's always a good time. We got there around 1 pm and began drinking immediately.

Don't worry though, I stuck with beer until around 6.

Drunken bingo started at 3 pm. Everyone always has a good time with bingo. This year my mom and my uncle, who is my godfather, couldn't seem to win a game to save their lives. So they were a little bitter.

This picture is of most of my older cousins and our significant others. Notice the socks Matt is wearing. He won those during drunken bingo. And he bought the reindeer tie as a joke to wear.

This pictures is of my reester and I.

After Christmas at Uncle Loaded's we went to the bar. Needless to say, I didn't make it very long until I went back to mom's. Matt came back there later and we all stayed the night there.

Oh and about the cheese balls, no one bitched. One of my aunts even asked for my recipe.

Sunday we were supposed to go to Matt's mom's family Christmas but we didn't feel well so we went home and took a nap.

I'm taking Thursday off work. I have vacation days to burn. Friday night I believe we are going to have a New Year's get together at our house.

I'm going to wait until after the new year to do another "Facebook Funnies".

Hope you all had a great Christmas and a very Happy New Year!

All over the place

- We had my mom's side of the family's Christmas this past Saturday. A good time was had by all.

- Sunday we did close to nothing. Mom and Dad came over. Dad and Matt put up a storm door with a doggy door between the house and the attached garage. The first storm door they put up a couple months ago took them around like 6 hours to do. This one took an hour and a half. They are thinking about doing storm door installation together. But only if they can drink beer while they are hanging them.

- The pups are kind of on a diet. Before we got Miss Princess, the boys had food sitting out for them all day everyday. They run around enough that they don't get fat. They both actually got moistened puppy food in the mornings to help keep weight on them. Miss Princess took advantage of having food sitting out all day. She has gotten a little chunky. She even needs help getting on the couch. So now the pups all get breakfast, moistened puppy food for the boys and moistened adult food for Miss Princess. And then they get dinner in the evenings. Everyone seems to be adjusting well.

- Yesterday was my daddy's birthday. He turned 32 for the 19th time.

- I got my grades the other day. I got all A's again this semester so I still have a 4.0. Matt did very well in his classes too.

- I don't have all my Christmas shopping done. I still need to get two gift cards and a gift for Matt's brother.

- I have a ton of other errands to run before Christmas too. Hair tonight. Eye appointments tomorrow. Miss Princess has to get her hair done Thursday. Need to get to the grocery store. Blah blah blah.

- I need a good cheese ball recipe. Soon. One without 5,000 ingredients that I don't know what the hell they even are have. Please help.

- We still have 5 Christmas gatherings to attend. The good news is that I'm pretty sure I have Matt talked into running away next Christmas. We're thinking Texas.

- I'm not sure if I'll blog again before Christmas. Hope you all have a very Merry Christmas and that Santa finds you all!

Vinnie's first Christmas

Yesterday I took Vinnie to see Santa. Santa was at the Humane Society here. Vinnie got his picture take with Santa, they emailed me the pics, and I have an ornament of him to pick up Monday.

I think the Humane Society is a great organization. So this was a perfect reason to give them a donation.

I didn't bring either or the other pups because I don't think that's really either of their "thing". Ozzy got his picture taken with Santa once when he was little and he wasn't a fan.

Little Vinnie did a really good job. Even though he's nuts and loves to play, he's my snuggler. He sat real good on Santa's lap. Santa really like him and I think he wanted to keep him.

I did tell Santa that Vinnie tears up all his toys and gets stuffing all over the floor some times. And that he likes to chew on his sister's ear. And that he doesn't like to share toys. Vinnie looked at me like, "Gee mom, you're a snitch."

Here are a few pictures of Vinnie with Santa.

Weekend recap & Xmas decorations

We had a great Thanksgiving. I ate too much. Although, yesterday I stepped on the scale and it said I didn't gain any weight. Uhhhh, we'll go with that.

My friend makes cakes and stuff on the side and she made this for me to take to my grandparents. It's a turkey made out of cupcakes. Funfetti cupcakes. My favorite. They were awesome.

Here is a group of misfits at grandma's. Bottom - my brother and his girlfriend. Top - the hubs, me, my reester, and her man friend.

Here's the boys enjoying one of the last nice days of the year, most likely. They pretty much act like this all the time outside.

Friday night I worked. It was a descent time.

Saturday I put up the tree and Matt hung up the lights outside. You can find picture of the outside lights and stuff here. They pretty much look the same this year as last.

I did add some new stuff to the tree this year. I got the silver ribbons on it on clearance last year after Christmas for like 2 bucks.

I ordered an ornament for each of the pups a month or so ago.

Here's Ozzy's

And Mr. Ozzy himself

Princess's ornament

Miss Princess

Vinnie's ornament

Little Vinnie

And no, it wasn't easy to get any of them to sit in front of the tree so that I could take a picture.

Sunday we skipped the family thing we were supposed to go to, laid around, and did homework.

Oh and if you recently started following my blog, please leave a comment so I can check your blog out. For some reason, it won't let me go to your blog from my list of followers. Please and thank you.

Hope you all had a great weekend and ate a ton of goodies!

*** "Facebook Funnies" will probably be Thursday or Friday this week. I have some good ones. ***

Happy Thanksgiving!

Today we get to relax until later this afternoon. No matter how much I complain about having to run here and run there I am thankful for the good in my life.

Here's a list of what I'm thankful for today:

1. My husband. Life would be boring without him.

2. Our pups. Yeah, they are brats sometimes but I am thankful for each of them in their own way.

3. Our house. We have a place to live and it's cute.

4. Our jobs. Times is tough and I'm glad that we both have jobs and are able to pay our bills.

5. My family. They are supportive of Matt and I and are crazy enough to keep me entertained.

6. Education. I'm thankful that we can afford for me to go to school.

7. Our health. Pretty self explanatory.

8. Our savings. We both worked hard to save money. I'm glad we have this to fall back on if we need it.

9. My part-time gig. I like to stay busy and I'm glad I have something else to do once in awhile.

10. My friends. Both in real life and in the bloggy world. Thanks for all your support.

Hope you all have a very Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Just a quick update

This weekend was a pretty descent one for me. Friday after work, I went and did a little retail therapy. Saturday morning I cleaned like a mad woman. Saturday evening I worked. Matt did NOT kill a deer this weekend.

Sunday evening, I called the cops on the little neighbor kid again. We bought our house last June. We didn't move in until August. Between June and August a BB hole had appear in front picture window. We finally got the window replaced on Veteran's Day. $800.

The neighbor kid across the street and the another kid that lives behind us and down the alley a little bit run around together. Both of their parents are losers and have been in trouble with Johnny Law before. Well Sunday they were out shooting their BB guns together, after dark, with no parental supervision. So, I called Johnny Law. By the time he showed up, the kids were gone.

But I explained to him what had happened. And that last time I called the law they were there for about 30 seconds and did nothing. This cop was pretty cool and said to call if I saw them out shooting again. I told him not to worry about that, I would. I've never been one for snitching but when our shit gets broke, it's a different story. Not to mention, if one of them shot one of my dogs, I'd come unglued.

Tonight, I'm getting my hair colored black in honor of my holiday spirit this year. Then I have to take a test online.

After tomorrow, I'm off work for 4 days. I'm pretty stoked about that. Although, I do have 6 chapters of Accounting to teach myself before the end of the semester. The teacher moves at a turtle's pace and I need to know the stuff we aren't covering for my next accounting class. Oh and the bookstore won't let me keep my book past the end of the semester.

Happy Tuesday!

If I'm really good

When I think of the perfect holiday scenario, I think of being able to relax and enjoy a few extra days off work. Last year, I almost lost it. Thanksgiving and Christmas were spend running here and running there and staying at get togethers for an hour so that we could run to the next one.

I don't want to sounds unappreciative of the fact that we get to be near our families. I know some of you don't have that option.

Matt and I both have large extended families. My mom has 2 sisters and 3 brothers. My dad has 7 brothers and 2 sisters. Matt's mom has 11 siblings and his dad has 10 I believe.

This year, for Thanksgiving alone, we have 5 places we are supposed to be at in three days. For Christmas last year we went to 8 different gatherings, including work parties.

When is the relaxing part supposed to take place?

The other day, I had an epiphany. Next year, I want to run away during Christmas. Go on vacation. Somewhere warm. We don't have kids. This could be done.

I texted Matt and told him my idea. He said I'd have to be real good until then. That includes, acting like I'm having a good time when we are going 15,876 places in the next 6 weeks. (I'm not the most social creature.)

Here's to dreaming.....

Long weekend together

This weekend the hubby and I had a four day weekend. It was also the first weekend that we didn't have any real plans since before summer started. Sometimes those are the best, in my opinion.

Friday night I worked at the VFW. Matt came in and helped fry fish for the fish fry. He enjoyed it. He enjoys hanging out with all the old vets that also help with the dinners. There is one old guy in particular that we both really like. His name is Clem. He's a sweet old guy, but bless his heart, he can't remember shit. He's the first to admit it though. Matt and I always tell him its okay and that his mind is probably in better shape than either of ours. He and Matt always have a beer together after the meetings or the dinners.

After I got off work Friday night, a couple that is friends of ours came over and had a few beers on the deck with us. Nothing crazy though.

Saturday morning Dish Network came and set us up. We had Direct TV for the last year. But long story short, they pissed me off about two hours into us having their service. We have been planning on switching since then and finally decided to do it.

I also did some homework Saturday and then Matt and I went shopping. We got him some shorts and what not. You know how when you were little and tried on new clothes your mom wiggled your pants around and made you turn around and stuff? No? Surely that wasn't just me. Well anyways I do that to Matt. He thinks I'm nuts.

Then, Saturday night we just stayed home and chilled with the pups. I made some dinner.

Sunday morning, well at noon, I worked at the VFW. It was a pretty slow day there. After work, the same couple that was over Friday night came over and we grilled out, played cards, and drank on the deck until the wee hours of the morning. This couple knows one of the city cops that was on duty and he came over and provided some entertainment for us. Not like in a stripper kind of way but more like in a Barney Fife kind of way.

Yesterday, I actually didn't feel too bad and managed to get some homework done and lay out in the pool for a couple hours. I'm starting to get a decent tan this year.

Today it's back to work for the hubby and I. While sitting here this morning, I realized that Matt and I have finally been able to celebrate every birthday, holiday, and anniversary together at least once, after 4 years of being together.

Happy Monday Tuesday! Hope you all had a great weekend!

It's my Birthday...

This is what sucks about being a grown-up. Yes it is my birthday and guess where I am. Work. Stuck in my cube. For 8 long hours. I should have took the day off.

I hate when my birthday is smack dab in the middle of the week. I haven't got pumped about it this year. I'm 29.

Matt is taking me out to eat tonight and the pups promised they would be good all day and night. Besides that it's just another day. We might build a fire in the yard and have some friends over Friday night. And Saturday night we are going to my parents for dinner.

I'm just glad to have Matt home with me. I don't need much else.

5/28/2010

Happy Memorial Day Weekend!

We are leaving after work to go camping for the weekend. We are going with my parents and my brother and his girlfriend. The weather is supposed to be beautiful so it should be a great weekend. We are actually going to a friend of my parent's place. They have a couple of camper hookups and it's only a couple miles for where we work. We'll probably try to sneak home tomorrow afternoon and take a dip in the pool.

Monday I'm working for a bit at my second gig. I might as well tell ya where it is. It's at the VFW; I'm a bartender there. They are opening early on Monday after the Memorial Day parade. So I'm working from Noon to 4. For the most part, I love working there. And the customers know I'm a military wife so they treat me good. I can't think of a better place to be on Memorial Day, for awhile.

Hopefully we can all remember the real reason for Memorial Day. So while we are enjoying the three day weekend, please try to remember those who paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.
RIP Ricky Bobby. He was a friend of Matt's and his unit. He was KIA in August of 2007, while he and Matt were in Iraq. We miss you and think of you often.

Happy Birthday to my Hubby!

Today is Matt's 19 29th Birthday! We thought it was going to be just a regular Tuesday for us. (Me: Work, school, work, school, home, eat, sleep - Matt: work, eat, work, eat, nap, snack, sleep) But this morning, while I was in class I got a text that my evening class has been canceled. I don't know why and I don't care why. So this evening, we are going to go out to eat and then spending the rest of the evening together.

This is the first year that we have been able to spend both Valentine's Day and his birthday together since we've been together. I'm happy just to be able to be together for these occasions and I don't take this for granted.

Matt,

I love you more than I could ever begin to tell you. I appreciate everything you have done for us and for me. You truly do make me whole and I would be lost without you. Happy Birthday!

Steph

Our Christmas story

The parties began on the 19th. My dad turned 50 on the 20th and my parents had a party at their house. We all had a great time, especially my dad. He drinks old mil beer (gag) and received 5 or 6 30 packs and a couple 18 packs. That should keep him stocked up for awhile.

Dad's Old Mil cake

Opening his presents

My husband and seester at Dad's party

Christmas Eve we went to Matt's parents house and ate dinner and exchanged gifts. We both got gift cards to our favorite stores. We got Matt's mom a digital camera as she has been toting around a disposable camera since I have known her.

Christmas day we went to my parent's house and opened gifts there. I got a pink snuggie, some decorative serving plates, a pink can opener, and a crap load of gift cards.

Ozzy got a snuggie from his grandma. Here he is pretending he is shy.

And a new toy and collar from his mommy and daddy.

We left my mom's and went to Matt's dad's side of the family Christmas. Matt wanted to see his grandpa. We got there finally (flooded roads everywhere) and found out one of Matt's uncle had taken grandpa somewhere else. Grandpa showed up about the time we were planning on leaving. I told Matt to go out there Monday and visit with his grandpa and he was ok with that. (That's what I told him to do in the first place, because I knew there would be a crap load of people there but do you think he listened the first time around?)

We left there and went to my dad's side of the family's drunkfest. Once again the P. Christmas did not disappoint. The early afternoon is filled with eating and beer drinking. The afternoon brings on an intense bingo game. Uncle Wealthy's wife buys all kinds of prizes for bingo winners. I'm talking at least a hundred prizes. This year they were wrapped. My dad picked some polka dotted lingerie. I won some socks and boxers.

Us during drunken bingo

After bingo everyone tends to be feeling pretty good and the karaoke begins. Myself and all my cousins that were there sang "Family Tradition." It was hilarious. By the time I was singing karaoke, I knew it was time to go. A couple of the older cousins, along with Matt and I and my seester went to the bar. It was a long night.

Saturday, I was hungover as hell didn't feel too good but the parties continued. We went to my mom's side of the family. It was a good time. They are all nuts so it can be very entertaining.

Sunday, we went to Matt's mom's side of the family's party. By this point, I was just about partied out. The food was once again awesome. We played some cards there and got a beautiful ornament.

Sunday evening Matt, Ozzy, and I all layed around on the couch, Ozzy and I in our snuggies.

Thursday night Matt and I are having a New Year's Eve party. Nothing too fancy. I am making cheese dip, beer cheese soup, and meatballs. I ordered a special bottle of booze that should be in tomorrow.

Hope everyone had a great time during Christmas!

12/23/2009

8 more hours...

until I'm out of here for 4 days. I don't know if or how much I'll be blogging this weekend but I'll make sure to take lots of pictures.

We have so much going on in the next four days. Tomorrow night we are going to Matt's parents. Friday, we are going to my parents in the morning, then to his dad's side of the family, and then to my dad's side of the family's drunkfest.

Saturday we have my mom's side of the family and Sunday we have his mom's side of the family. Not to mention, we have already been to his work party and the Army xmas party.

New Year's Eve we are having a small party at our house. That I am looking forward to.

It's hit me yesterday that I would rather just do more relaxing during the holidays. So if you don't hear from me every again, it's probably because I've had a nervous breakdown. I'll have my mom leave you all the address to the mental ward. Feel free to send cards.

Oh and the first person to ask if or when I'm going to be pregnant is probably going to get told to shut the hell up. It happens every time we go to family stuff. Or should I say, "Actually we've been trying for 6 months and it's not happening but thanks for bringing it up."

Christmas List

I was tagged by (army)wife at A Yummy Mummy On a Pink Park Bench to fill out this lovely Christmas survey.

Want to play along?

Copy and paste the questions into your blog,

•Then tag 5 or more of your favorite blogs, and leave them a comment telling them they’ve been tagged.

1. Have you started your Christmas shopping?
Yes I have and I am done. I'm usually the kinda gal that waits until around the 20th to start but this year I did a lot of online shopping and then that motivated me just to get it done.

2. Tell me about one of your special traditions.
I always go to Mom and Dad's on Christmas morning to open presents with the family. This is the hubs and my first Christmas together that we have our own house and that he doesn't have to leave two days later. So I'm looking forward to starting our own traditions.

3. When do you put up your Tree?
This would be one of the traditions we started. We put our tree up the day after Thanksgiving. Matt hung the lights outside the next day. I posted pictures of our tree and house here.

4. Are you a Black Friday shopper?
No stinking way. I'd rather walk across broken glass.

5. Do you travel at Christmas or stay home?
All of our Christmas festivities are within 15 mile of our house. But I don't think we will be at our actually home very much on Christmas.

6. What is your funniest Christmas memory?
Its hard to say. My dad's brother that is loaded always has Christmas and he has more booze than imaginable. I've gotten pretty tipsy there. Also, one year on my mom's side, my uncle that is "that guy," you know the idiot of the family, was drunk and dumped his plate of food on the floor. That was pretty awesome.

7. What is your favorite Christmas Movie of All time?
National Lampoons Christmas Vacation. Hands Down. I also like the Santa Claus with Tim Allen.

8. Do you do your own Christmas Baking, what’s your favorite treat?
Uhhhhhh not so much. This year I'm in charge of bring corn to above mentioned drunkfest '09.

9. Fake or Real Tree?
We have a fake one. I think a real one would be too much work. We are all about taking the easy way out.

10. What day does the actual panic set in to get it all done?
Hasn't happened this year. I will probably be having a fit about all the running around we have to do though.

11. Are you still wrapping presents on Christmas Eve?
Not this year but yeah usually.

12. What is your favorite family fun time at Christmas?
Above mentioned drunkfest at Uncle Wealthy's mansion.

13. What Christmas craft do you like the best?
Craft... hmmm... can't think of any.

14. Christmas music? Yes or No, and if yes What is your favorite song?
That's a big negative. I like singing them all stupid like to annoy Matt but that's about it.

15. When do you plan to finish all your shopping?
I'm done.

I've already read similar variations of this on some of the blogs I follow so I'm tagging everyone. If you haven't done this then go for it.

Happy Holidays!!!

I don't mesh well with people

This weekend we had Matt's work Christmas party. He was nominated for an award and received $100 for his nomination. They gave us a really nice cutting board and a outdoor blanket. It folds up into a bag and is waterproof.

I think I have social anxiety or something. I always feel as if I don't fit in. I don't know why but I don't do well with large crowds of people that I don't know. Most of the people at this party were older so we pretty much hung out with the younger crowd. (Under 30) Even the younger people kinda freak me out. I feel like I never have anything in common with people. So I just drank. By the time we left, I was feeling pretty good.

We went to the bar after the party and proceeded to drink even more. By the end of the night I fit in. This is probably not healthy. I felt like crap yesterday. I swore off drinking.

I just want to start our own family and own traditions. And not have to worry about anything outside of that.

Which brings me to the next thought I've been having. Christmas is totally blow out of proportion. Isn't it supposed to be about spending time with family and loved ones? Why does it have to be all about gifts. I mean, everyone shells out a bunch of money and swaps presents. A lot of times, it's stuff you don't even need or want. And for what?

I can understand if you have kids you would want to spoil them a little. But I'm an adult. I don't need anything. We have spoiled ourselves enough this year. I would like to boycott gift giving/receiving next year but that would probably never work.

Dear Santa

Dear Santa,

I know I have been a real good girl this year so I thought I would take the liberty of giving you my Christmas list this year. I really don't need or want much so anything you get me will be appreciated.

Chocolate Touch - Now Santa, you know my phone is junk. I have had a chocolate before so I'm sure this one will last me until at least next Christmas.
Pink - I'll take the body spray or the perfume. If you wish to have my husband get this for me, he could probably find it at the mall in Springfield when he does his drill next weekend. Or he could probably order it online.
A pink snuggie. Santa, you know I like to lay around on the couch and that's what keeps me on the "good list." We are also fairly frugal with the heat in our house. So, it gets a little on the chilly side.
I like these pens Santa. You can find them at Wal-Mart. Good luck though. They are usually out.
Thanks Santa. I will leave a Bud Light and some chips for you.
