Happy Little Scamper

Last weekend we took little Peanut camping.  The weather was perfect.  There was a "no burn" order but that didn't stop us from having a good time.  Hopefully, now that the weather is nicer, we can start camping more.

Aubri got spoiled while we were camping. You know, because she never gets spoiled any other time.

Her you're-not-really-gonna-make-me-sit-in-this-bumbo-seat face.

Family picture time!

At three and a half months old, she can already rock a hoodie.

Uncle Lyle camped with us too.

Playing in Grandma's camper.

By next year, we would like to sell our camper.  We need a bigger one.  She needs more stuff for camping than Matt and I do combined.

Hope you are all having a great week!

Maternity Pictures

I promised you all maternity pictures. Well, better late than never, right?

I think I gained around 37 pounds when I was pregnant.  Originally, I planned on gaining 80.  About 25 pounds into it, I decided that was the shittest idea ever.  Plus, the gestational diabetes put a damper on my sweet tooth.

I'm going to tell you all a little secret.  My driver's license isn't correct.  I do not, nor have I, weighed 125 pounds for 7 or 8 years.  Matt did not know that until I got pregnant.  If the topic came up, I'd tell him, "My license says I weigh 125."  He would dropped it.

And I'm okay with not weighing 125.

Today, I tried on a pair of pre-pregnancy "fat" jeans.  They fit.  They buttoned.  I took them off right away because of my incision ouwwweee.  And my wedding rings fit again!

I am somewhat thankful for having gestational diabetes.  It was an eye opener. And Aubri is fine.  They checked her blood sugar at the hospital 5 times. Every time it was right where it was supposed to be.

This losing weight thing might not be so hard.  I barely have time to eat.  I'm not complaining though.  I'm a stay-busy kinda gal.

Well, tomorrow we have a big day.  I told Matt to take Vinnie camping tomorrow.  (They both deserve it.) Aubri and I are going to visit tomorrow afternoon for awhile. (They are basically camping in my parent's friend's yard and there is a big shed.  It's hardly roughing it.)  We haven't left the house in almost 2 weeks.  I made a list of stuff she'll need.  I might need two diaper bags.  How can one little baby need so many things for a 4-6 hour trip?

Hope you all have a great weekend!  And a Very Happy Mother's Day to all Moms!

Talk to us Tuesday

Today I'm linking up with Impulsive Addict and Shawn for their brand new link-up, "Talk to us Tuesday".  It's the best kind of link-up.  As in, there are NO rules.  Just blog and link up.

This past weekend we went camping at my grandpas.  It was pretty awesome.  Saturday afternoon, grandpa hooked his horses up to his wagon and took us on a wagon ride.  I may have drank more than 1 or 2 mixed drinks on said wagon ride.

Grandpa let me try to drive them and it was like they were drunk.  They were all over the road.  (I wonder if I could have got a DUI for that.)  Anyways, it didn't last long and we weren't on a road that cars go down.

Then when we got back, my cousin had shown up and was going to ride his horse.  I thought it would be a great idea for me to go too.  So, I rode one of my uncle's horses.  His name was Cash, like Johnny Cash.  He was well behaved.

But let me tell you, my back, knee, and butt hurt like hell the next day, yesterday, and even a little today.  I don't think being a cowgirl is for me.

So, by the time we got back from riding horses, it was dark, I was drunk, and hadn't ate since breakfast.  I had a bowl of soup and then took the pups to bed with me.  That was around 9:30.

Hey, at least I didn't feel like garbage the next day.

Happy Tuesday!

Vandalism or Hilarious?

Sometime between Sunday around noon and Friday evening, someone decided to deface our camper.  It's parked in a small driveway on the side of the house.  And we don't inspect it everyday.

Someone, with too much time on their hands, took it upon themselves to draw a penis and testicals on our front camper window.

Matt told me he about it Friday evening.  He said he had seen it earlier in the day.  At first, it pissed me off.  I even thought about calling the cops.  But really, they'd probably just laugh.

Saturday I texted my dad because he was over Thursday and Friday before Matt and I got home.  He was working on digging a trench for a water line.  (Yes, my dad is that awesome.)  I knew he didn't do it.  He's not a very good texter either.  And I like to aggravate him sometimes.  So I texted, "Did you draw a cock and balls with soap on our camper window?"  He replied, "No."  I texted back, "Do you know anything about it?"  He replied, "No."

Now I sort of think kinda think it is funny.  I asked a few people that we know from town about it.  They all laugh so why shouldn't I.  Nothing else was done to the camper.

What do you think?  Hilarious or Vandalism?

Back from Vacation

Last week was just what I needed.

Monday and Tuesday I lounged around, cleaned the house, took some naps, and threw some stuff away.  I always feel better when I de-clutter.

Wednesday, Matt and I had to go to his old Reserves Unit and get some paperwork.  Vinnie stayed there with his Sergeant First Class (she's been asking for a year to see him) while we went to re-enroll in DEERS and get our new ID cards.  When we got back to pick up Vinnie, he was riding on a forklift with her.  It was so cute.  He promoted from Private Pup to Sergeant First Class Pup in one day.

We also had to drop my laptop off at the Best Buy.  The port dealy where the plug in majigger goes is loose.  So sometimes when I try to charge it I have to wrap the cord around the monitor.  Hopefully, it's covered under the extended warranty that we purchased.  It's not like Vinnie got tangled up in the cord when he was just a little feller and it fell on the floor or anything.  Or maybe that did happen once.

On the way home, Matt and I went to a campground.  My dad pulled his and mom's camper up and my mom and I stayed there alone Wednesday night.  With no pups or husbands.  It was nice.  We really roughed it.  Mom brought a couple subway sammys.

Thursday evening Matt brought our camper and the pups up.  And my dad and a friend of my parents joined us on Friday.  We stayed until Sunday morning.

From Wednesday to Sunday morning, I took around 5 naps.  We also went to the beach for awhile.  Did a little hiking until I fell and busted my ass.  Ate more than we should have.  Had a few adult beverages.

All in all, it was just what I needed.

Monday, I had to come back to work.  It actually felt good to be back.

School starts next week and I already dropped one class.  Mostly because I have to use Matt's old Floppy McFlopperson computer right now.  No need to finish it all up too quickly.  I mean I'm only 30.

Thanks again to both of my wonderful guest bloggers.  And thank you all for you thoughts, prayers, good vibes, and support over the last couple of weeks.

And a big "Hello" to all of my new followers.  Leave me a comment so I can come check your blogs out too.

When life hands you lemons.....

First of all, thanks for all the birthday wishes on here and on facebook.  30 isn't so bad, so far.

Friday we headed out, in the rain, to go camping.  I may have celebrated too hard Friday night.  In my defense, one of my BFF's came and camped with us so I pretty much had to.

Saturday, we did quite a bit of laying around, napping, relaxing, and eating.

Sunday we to a Cardinals game with my mom and dad for Father's Day.  It was the first game I have been to this year.  Our seats were in the second row in lowest level in right field.  In my opinion, they were the best seats I've ever had.

It was only about 150 degrees at the game and the lack of a breeze made it very comfortable.  But we all had a good time.  Dad and Matt drank our beer vendor out of Bud Select and mom and I kept ourselves hydrated with water.  We all had a good time and the Cardinals won.

Monday morning, my car crapped out.  It wouldn't start when I turned the key and then it would try starting when the keys weren't in the ignition.  One day last week, when I turned the key to start it, the truck popped.  Uh yeah, I was confused.

Matt diagnosed the problem as the battery was junk and the cables that connect to it were corroded.  Whatever that means.  I kept giving him crap that the car was a lemon.  Its a 2000.  So obviously it will have some issues once in awhile.  Since I've been driving it we've only had to do several maintaince type things. But I can still give him crap if I want.

Matt and his buddy fixed my car last night.  The only problem is that my boom booms (subs) aren't hooked up.  It was Matt's car first and you know how men are with their accessories.  I never realized how much I liked the boom booms until I drove the car this morning.  He's supposed to get a longer bolt (or something) and hook them back up tonight.

I also wanted to let you know that I entered a giveway over at Utterly Chaotic Designs.  I'm really hoping to win since my blog is all jacked up.  Send me some good vibes and go by there and check her stuff out.  Brea is one of the most talented designers I've seen.  And her prices are very reasonable.

Hope you are all having a great week!

My Birthday Cake!

We are going camping and celebrating this weekend!

Hope you all have a great weekend!

Tomorrow I'll be in my....

Tomorrow is my birthday.  I'll be 30 29 for the second year.
Tomorrow will be a regular day.  I have to work.  And I'll probably do some homework so that we can go scamping and to a Cardinals game this weekend.

Last weekend we went scamping at my grandma and grandpas and it was a blast.  There is so much to do there and the rates are reasonable (free).

Friday night my brother brought his camper and camped with us.  About midnight it got really windy and started raining buckets of rain.  We had to take the awning down and got soaked in the process.  So we went in the scamp and drank more.

Saturday we went on a four-wheeler ride with my brother.

Maybe I should back up a bit.  Matt bought a four-wheeler.  He's wanted one forever.  I made him sell his death trap three wheeler and he sold some other stuff.  We found a great deal on one so he bought it.  He's pretty proud of it and I think we will get a lot of use out of it.

The first time we went riding - My cousin & brother

So anyway, Saturday we went on a four-wheeler ride. Got a little sunburn.  When we got back Camp Frank (that's what we call it), we took the pups on a little ride around the yard.  They actually liked it and sat really still.  Don't worry we didn't drive fast at all.

My Matt's four-wheeler

Then Saturday afternoon my mom and dad came out to my grandparents and my dad "showed us how to cook a pork loin."  My dad is kinda OCD about cooking when we are camping.

Saturday evening my grandpa hooked his horses up to the wagon and took us on a wagon ride while we drank.  My sister and her boyfriend even made an appearance.

Sunday morning grandma cooked us breakfast and then we went home.

Since then I've been busy trying to get a little ahead in school so I can take this weekend off.

Hope you all have a great weekend!

Camping Pictures

We had a great time camping this past weekend. It wasn't too hot or too cold.  A couple months ago I order all of us a "I'm a Happy Scamper" t-shirt.

Our ride to the lawn mower tractor pull

Matt did not pull at the tractor pull.  He didn't want to break his lawn mower.  You should have seen some of these lawn mowers.  They were far from a regular lawn mower.  Going to the lawn mower pull was by far the most redneck thing I've ever done in my life.
Sunday after the lawn mower pull Matt and I were going to take a nap at around 7 p.m.  We woke up at midnight and then went back to bed.  We're old.
Hope everyone had a great Memorial Day Weekend!

A quickie

Not that kind of quickie you pervs. ;)  A quick blog post.
TGIF!  I thought it was Friday on Wednesday this week.  For me, this week has seemed like two weeks.

First I have two questions.  They could be hypothetical but most likely they are not.  If you were 60 some years old and had to use a walker to get around, would you still go to work merely to drive people nuts?  Also, if your toes were all crooked and nasty would you wear sandles 365 days a year?

This place is really driving me nuts this week.

But anycrookedtoes, it's Friday.  Thank God!

The camper is loaded.  When Matt gets off work, he's going home hooking it up, grabbing his pup, and heading to the Funny Farm.  No really, that's the name of the campground.

When I get off work, I'm going home and grabbing the big kids and heading to the Funny Farm.

I'm sneaking away to work a little on Saturday night at the VFW.  I volunteered to wait tables.  Last time I made about $30 in tips.  I don't mind though.

Sunday there is a lawn mower pull (think tractor pull only with lawn mowers) about a mile away from the Funny Farm.  Matt's bringing his lawn mower (which is another post all in itself) and a wagon and pulling me and the beer in the wagon to the lawn mowever pull.  Sound legal, right?  He is not pulling his lawn mower, just showing it off.

Hope you all have a great Memorial Day weekend!  Take some time to remember the real reason for the holiday.

Camper Remodel

Last weekend we did some work to the camper. Here some before pictures:

And now after:

We got rid of the ugly carpet and added hardwood flooring.

We painted all the cabinet doors a dark brown.

We hung the cabinet above the table.  The table was also repainted.

This is an awesome cup I found on the Internet. For my mixed drinks.

When this posts, I hope to be using this cup.  Hope you all have a great weekend!

I have spring fever.... bad.

I am more than ready for the weather to be nice and stay nice. I'm ready to go camping. And I'm ready to drink beer by a campfire.

If you are somewhat new to my blog, please click here and check out our sweet camper.

We got our camper for a steal of a price. And we've already got our money's worth of usage out of it.

The one complaint I have about our camper is that the storage areas are limited and some of them are hard to get to.

It's in storage right now, it has been there since November. We went and measured a cabinet in it yesterday.

Under the couch on the right, there is a big storage area. But you have to lift the seat up to get to it. We ordered a cabinet door for it and we're going to cut a hole in the front of the couch deal so that you can get into the storage area without lifting the seat. I wonder if that makes any sense.

We also ordered a cabinet that will be mounted above the dining table.

The new doors will not match the rest of the camper so I'm going to try to talk Matt into painting all the doors before camping season starts. (Officially Easter weekend)

Also, someday I'd like to replace the carpeting and linoleum with laminate flooring.

Mostly, I just want to get it out of storage, cleaned up, and filled with our junk so we can get out of our house for a weekend.

Happy Hump Day!

I once read somewhere to never apologize for a lack of blogging. So, I won't. I've been busy. And my life has been pretty boring, which could be a good thing.

We had a great time camping this weekend. The weather was beautiful except that it was really windy. Friday night we remained pretty calm. Matt had to work for a couple hours Saturday morning. Saturday afternoon him and his buddy went four-wheeler riding. I stayed at the camper made some soup, roadtripped with my parents and the dogs for a while, and took a nap.

However, Saturday night it might have been on. I may have drank way to much. I may have fallen. I may have went to the chiropractor Monday and found out that I sprained my elbow. It may hurt like a bitch. I may have a few mysterious bruises. Or I may not.

Sunday morning we loaded up and went home. And then slept all day. It felt great to be a bum.

Yesterday was Miss Princess's birthday. I ordered her a camping chair online. It's like a bag chair but with out the back or beer can holder. My mom has one for her dog and Princess pretty much took it over while we were camping.

Besides that things have been pretty mellow. I've been trying to figure out what I'm going to take next semester. I think I have it figured out now though. If I take the right elective for my Associates in Accounting, I will also have a Certificate in Office Technology. And then if I take one more class I'll also have a Certificate in Management. I believe I have 13 classes left and then I'll have all this done. But at this point, I'm 28 29 years old and still considered a freshman. Which is a little depressing in itself.

Anywho, next semester I'm going to try to take three classes, be a wife, work, and sling beers on the side. I'm going to take Managerial Accounting, Legal Environments of Business (blah), and Advanced Formatting. Should be interesting. The good thing is one is online and the other two are at the extension building of the college which is very close to where I work. So no driving 30 minutes to class.

Oh and something else, someone keeps emailing me telling me that they think I'm a talented writer and they want me to write for some blog something or other. I don't buy it. I purposely make grammatical errors and use, commas in the wrong place because it's my blog and I can. And I'm a shitty proofreader. So don't lie to me. :)

Happy Hump Day! Hope you all are having a great week!

Concerts, hangovers, and fooseball

This weekend there was a concert at the fairgrounds that is very close to our house. Friday night there was a tractor pull. Matt and one of his buddies went to that. I stayed home with the pups and did some homework. I'm not really a tractor pull kind of gal. They are loud as hell and there are too many rednecks at them for my taste.

Saturday morning I woke up early and made some beer cheese soup. (and meatballs) Lucky for you a took pictures as I was making it and will do a recipe post on that later this week. Then I made Matt and his friend breakfast and also snuck in a nap.

Matt had brought our camper to the fairgrounds Thursday evening so that we could stay there Saturday night. When it comes to going somewhere, Matt always likes to be the first to get there or at least be half an hour early. The concert was supposed to start at 5. We got to the camper around 3.

We set up the awning and the table outside and got crockpots all set up. And then started drinking beer. The concert was pretty good. The first guy was the best. I'd never heard of him before but his name is Logan Mize. Kinda country. Kinda rock.

Gretchen Wilson was the last person to perform. Didn't like her before. Still don't like her. (We got our tickets for free or else I'm not so sure that I would have went to the concert. I might have stayed at the camper.) Basically, we drank a lot of beer and had a good time. And I got to see a lot of friends that I hadn't seen in awhile.

Yesterday, we didn't feel so well and mostly just laid around and ate greasy food.

Something else I need to bitch complain about, football. It's barely even started and already pissing me off. First of all, here in Illinois, most people are Bears fans. The Bears have sucked, I believe (hell I really don't know) as long as the Cubs have. This year apparently, they don't suck as much. Now, everyone and their brother is a Bears fan. Facbeook status all the time about Bears this and Bears that. Who cares?

Also, on Sunday nights on CBS I like to watch the Amazing Race and Undercover Boss. Because the fooseball games are never over on time, my shows never start on time. Hello CBS, can't you just move these shows to a night were fooseball isn't on. Like Tuesdays or something. The fooseball game was on at least an hour late last night. That means I didn't get done watching my shows until 10 p.m. I like to go to bed early on Sundays.

Happy Monday!

Long weekends wear me out!

Over the weekend we went camping. It was supposed to just be Matt and I, my brother and his girlfriend, and my parents. When we got there to set up Thursday night, mom informed me that some of their friends would be there. No biggie. I wasn't in the position to say who could come and who couldn't.

We both worked Friday and went out there after work. Dinner was good and we had a few beers. The pups loved it. They ran like crazy the whole time we were there.

Saturday we went home because Matt had some stuff to do. Mom, my sister, and I laid out in the pool for about 2 hours. When we were done I took a shower and then looked at my legs and thought to myself, what the !#@$!@#. My legs were burnt. Bad. Saturday evening we went back to the campground and I was miserable. The pups were still having a good ole time though.

We had not really planned on staying Sunday but Mom and Dad decided to and so did my brother. Sunday when I woke up, I was sunburnt fried, dehydrated, slightly hungover, and ready to go home. Not to mention, it was unbearably hot. Matt wanted to stay so I told him to bring me and the pups home. I slept on the couch most of the day/night with the pups.

My legs are better now. They didn't peel or anything. Probably because I put a ton of lotion on them. Oh well, now I'm set to tan the rest of the summer.

This weekend is drill weekend. Sometimes I enjoy the alone time. He'll only be a text message or phone call away so I don't get too worked up about it.

And my summer class starts next week. Thankfully, it's just an online class so hopefully it won't be too bad.

Hope you are all having a good week!

Happy Memorial Day Weekend!

We are leaving after work to go camping for the weekend. We are going with my parents and my brother and his girlfriend. The weather is supposed to be beautiful so it should be a great weekend. We are actually going to a friend of my parent's place. They have a couple of camper hookups and it's only a couple miles for where we work. We'll probably try to sneak home tomorrow afternoon and take a dip in the pool.

Monday I'm working for a bit at my second gig. I might as well tell ya where it is. It's at the VFW; I'm a bartender there. They are opening early on Monday after the Memorial Day parade. So I'm working from Noon to 4. For the most part, I love working there. And the customers know I'm a military wife so they treat me good. I can't think of a better place to be on Memorial Day, for awhile.

Hopefully we can all remember the real reason for Memorial Day. So while we are enjoying the three day weekend, please try to remember those who paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.
RIP Ricky Bobby. He was a friend of Matt's and his unit. He was KIA in August of 2007, while he and Matt were in Iraq. We miss you and think of you often.

Weekend Recap

This past weekend we went to the fairground for a concert. The concert started at 2 pm. It was so hot and the sun was beating down but it actually felt nice, to me. We brought the camper to the concert even though we live less than half a mile away. My brother and his girlfriend stayed in his camper and we had several other friends show up.

The concert was awesome. There weren't very many people at the concert (as in less than 200) so it was easy to get a good view of the stage. We went to do three things: watch Back Porch Mary, drink some beer, and get a Back Porch Mary t-shirt, as they are not available online. We succeeded in all three.

I'm not sure if any of you have ever heard of or listened to Back Porch Mary. I did a "What's on my iPod?" and featured them here. They put on an amazing show and are one of the few REAL bands of musicians I have had the pleasure of seeing lately. I was even more impressed with their performance this time, than the first time I saw them.

The last band to play that night was Jason Boland in the Stragglers. My husband really digs them. They are good but maybe a little slow for my taste. I would have rather seen them earlier in the day.

All in all, it was a great time and I'm hoping this concert happens again next year.

Sunday morning we woke up in the camper and were sweating our asses off. The air conditioner had broke and it was the hottest day of the year, thus far. We were probably still legally intoxicated had to abandon ship and go home. We went back and got the camper once we had recovered from the insane amount of alcohol we had drank the day before heat exhaustion.

No worries, we got a new AC last night for a hundred bucks and my dad is putting it in tomorrow night. While we were at Wal-Mart, we also picked up one of these:

I anticipate doing a lot of this, this summer:

Hope you all had a great week!

I picked out the material and beads for the curtains and my mom sewed them for us. They were orange before. I'm not a big fan of orange. Matt's going to give it a bath tomorrow.

We are taking it out this weekend and camping with my parents, my brother and his girlfriend, and a couple friends of ours. Can't wait.
