Miss Chloe and the Pups

People keep telling me that once the baby comes I'll basically forget about the pups. Rest assured, I will not.

I'd like to introduce you to my "sister". Miss Chloe. She is my mom's dog. Her and Ozzy used to be lovers.  She is about a year younger than Ozzy.  She has always been a young at heart kinda gal.

She can tear apart any toy in less than 5 minutes.  Her primary mission is to get the squeaker out.

Chloe has the diabetes.  Mom has to give her a shot every morning and night.  She's stayed with us before when mom and dad went out of town and couldn't take her with them.  I can give her her meds too.

She is even more spoiled than any of my pups.  She let's mom and dad live with her basically.  It's her house.  They just pay the bills for her.

She gets free range of the house while they are at work.  This is her spot of choice:

On the back of the couch.  Whenever I talk to mom, I always ask her, "What's Chloe doing?"  She'll always say, "Laying on the couch."

She loves to play with Mister Vinnie, for awhile.  Her and Ozzy like to take naps together.  And I think she is jealous of Miss Princess because she's pretty too.  Chloe likes to be #1.

 See, spoiled.

But, she's a good girl.

Mister Vinnie, he's been pretty good lately.  He's a daddy's boy, of course.  Matt had drill this past weekend.  Poor little Vinnie walked around all weekend kind of in a daze.  Like, a where-is-my-daddy-at daze.  When Matt came home, Vinnie didn't even know who I was.

Vinnie's favorite thing to do right now besides follow Matt around  is to lay on or near my stomach.   He'll be a good big brother.

Miss Princess had surgery between Christmas and New Year's.  She had a lump on her breast that had to be removed.  The vet said it wasn't cancerous and that they shouldn't come back.  He said it had something to do with us getting her fixed when she was older.

But she did good with the surgery.  She was supposed to take it easy for 3 days but she didn't.

Ozzy, well he's been Ozzy.  He likes to nap and rough house with his brother.  I don't think he's too pumped about this "baby sister" thing.  He's always been a mommy's boy.

I go to the doctor tomorrow.  I feel the baby kick all the time.  I don't think she sleeps much during the day but she does let me sleep at night, for now.

Hope you all have a great weekend!

Back from Vacation

Last week was just what I needed.

Monday and Tuesday I lounged around, cleaned the house, took some naps, and threw some stuff away.  I always feel better when I de-clutter.

Wednesday, Matt and I had to go to his old Reserves Unit and get some paperwork.  Vinnie stayed there with his Sergeant First Class (she's been asking for a year to see him) while we went to re-enroll in DEERS and get our new ID cards.  When we got back to pick up Vinnie, he was riding on a forklift with her.  It was so cute.  He promoted from Private Pup to Sergeant First Class Pup in one day.

We also had to drop my laptop off at the Best Buy.  The port dealy where the plug in majigger goes is loose.  So sometimes when I try to charge it I have to wrap the cord around the monitor.  Hopefully, it's covered under the extended warranty that we purchased.  It's not like Vinnie got tangled up in the cord when he was just a little feller and it fell on the floor or anything.  Or maybe that did happen once.

On the way home, Matt and I went to a campground.  My dad pulled his and mom's camper up and my mom and I stayed there alone Wednesday night.  With no pups or husbands.  It was nice.  We really roughed it.  Mom brought a couple subway sammys.

Thursday evening Matt brought our camper and the pups up.  And my dad and a friend of my parents joined us on Friday.  We stayed until Sunday morning.

From Wednesday to Sunday morning, I took around 5 naps.  We also went to the beach for awhile.  Did a little hiking until I fell and busted my ass.  Ate more than we should have.  Had a few adult beverages.

All in all, it was just what I needed.

Monday, I had to come back to work.  It actually felt good to be back.

School starts next week and I already dropped one class.  Mostly because I have to use Matt's old Floppy McFlopperson computer right now.  No need to finish it all up too quickly.  I mean I'm only 30.

Thanks again to both of my wonderful guest bloggers.  And thank you all for you thoughts, prayers, good vibes, and support over the last couple of weeks.

And a big "Hello" to all of my new followers.  Leave me a comment so I can come check your blogs out too.

The Pups

The other day I was at my parent's house and I noticed my mom had 8x10 pictures of her two dogs and Ozzy on her bedroom wall. Then I wondered why I didn't have any pictures of my pups on the wall.

Last week one night, I had a little photo session with the pups.  The first three pictures in this post are the ones I had 8x10's printed of.  Then I framed them and hung them in the living room.

Miss Princess was the easiest.  I just told her to sit in this area of our landscaping and she did.  She doesn't like to look directly into the camera though.  Girl knows how to work her angles.  Haha

To keep little Vinnie's attention, I had to had to keep throwing his toy. Or squeak it.

Ozzy is the hardest to take pictures of.  He doesn't like it and he won't pose.

Here are a few more for your viewing pleasure.

Little Vinnie watching his ball

For you pet lovers, the toy Vinnie has in these pictures are Dura Doggie toys.  You can look them up online if you'd like.  Vinnie is pretty hard on toys and has yet to tear one of these up. They don't smell like plastic and the company donates a portion of all sales to different organizations. And no, no one paid me to write that.

Hope you are all having a great week!

Camping Pictures

We had a great time camping this past weekend. It wasn't too hot or too cold.  A couple months ago I order all of us a "I'm a Happy Scamper" t-shirt.

Our ride to the lawn mower tractor pull

Matt did not pull at the tractor pull.  He didn't want to break his lawn mower.  You should have seen some of these lawn mowers.  They were far from a regular lawn mower.  Going to the lawn mower pull was by far the most redneck thing I've ever done in my life.
Sunday after the lawn mower pull Matt and I were going to take a nap at around 7 p.m.  We woke up at midnight and then went back to bed.  We're old.
Hope everyone had a great Memorial Day Weekend!

Happy Monday!

Saturday morning I got a phone call from the local flower shop. They said they were trying to deliver flowers to my work, which is closed on Saturdays. I told them where we lived and they delivered them to our house.

I thought I took a picture of the card but I guess it didn't say. (I'm still semi smart phone illiterate.) It said something along the lines of Thanks for all you do for our little family. Love, Matt, Ozzy, Princess, and Lil Vinnie

I love them.

The kids and I spend some time on the deck Saturday. Ozzy and Princess sunbathed. And little Vinnie ran around and peed on stuff. I took my Business Law final. I think I did fairly well, but like I said, I'm beyond caring this semester.

Sunday, the pups actually let me sleep in. Matt took me out to lunch. And then we took a nap on the couch.

All in all, it was a great weekend!

Hope everyone had a Happy Mothers' Day!

I'm here

The last few days have been crazy. Unless you've been living under a rock, you know that the mid-west got pounded with ice and then snow. I'm not one to use the weather to make conversation so I'll spare you the details.

The funeral was Sunday. It was really sad. Matt was a pallbearer. His dress pants were about 3 sizes too small. My smallest black pants were about 2 sizes too big. I may have called him a fatass repeatedly once or twice.

I can't even remember what else we did last weekend. Must have been exciting.

Yesterday, I worked from home. We didn't have internet until about noon but I had a ton of stuff that I could do without the internet.

Pro's of working from home:

- Sleeping in

- Staying in my pajamas until I took a shower on my "lunch break". And then I put on clean pajamas.

-Having the pups sit by me on the couch

- Not having to deal with anyone I work with

- Eating when I wanted to

- Perhaps most importantly, the coffee is better at home.

- Getting more done in one day on the couch than I could in three days at work

- Watching day time TV. I'm totally envious of anyone that gets to watch court shows and the Price is Right everyday.

Con's of working at home:

- I can't really do all of my work at home since I don't have our software on my laptop so there was a big pile of crap waiting for me this morning.

- Matt asking 2487 times if they internet was working and why I hadn't call them yet.

- Matt whining that he was hungry.

- The pups bark at every leaf that falls.

If I could send Matt to work everyday, I'd give my left arm to be able to work from home. Seriously, I'm not that big of a "people person" anyway.

Hope you are all doing well!

Our New Year's Weekend

My weekend started on Wednesday evening. A co-worker from the V texted me Wednesday and said she was sick and wanted to know if I would work for her. Being the sucker I am So, I did. It was a pretty good time. I hadn't worked there in almost two weeks so it was nice to see everyone.

I had already planned on taking Thursday off and I actually got to sleep in. Matt texted me before I woke up but lucky for me, I had set my phone to alarm only. Sucker! When I woke up, I did 75% of my cleaning list and went and got groceries. At one point, I noticed it was strangely quiet. I went into the living room to see what the pups were doing. And this is what I found...

They were all being good. And this is the one and only picture I have of all of them.

Friday I cook my beer cheese soup and some meatballs. We had a small gathering Friday night. And by small I mean, 6 people showed up. 2 of which were my parents. I didn't really mind because the house was still clean and we had a ton of leftovers after the party. Which, in turn, meant that I didn't have to cook or clean the rest of the weekend. Matt was disappointed though.

Here are a few pictures for your viewing pleasure....

Our little party animals. Ozzy went home with Grandma because he's kind of grouchy around strangers.

Matt and I.

Mr. Vinnie and I

Matt and Mr. Vinnie. Even Mr. Vinnie has some beads on. Don't worry, we didn't leave them on him very long.

Today I didn't want to come to work, I must have told Matt that about 10 times on the way here. However, when I got here the HR lady gave me this:

You see, I used to get paid every Friday. The company I work for is switching to a two week pay period. So this Friday, we won't get a check. This $100 is a cash bonus to "help with the transition". I saw no fine print saying it was a cash advance. I didn't really care about the switch but a lot of people are pretty bent out of shape about it.

Hope you are all having a fantastic Monday!

Christmas Recap

Christmas eve I woke up early and made two cheese balls. The recipe said the prep time was 10 minutes. 10 minutes, my ass. More like an hour. It was a mess. I told Matt if anyone complained about them I was throwing them out the patio doors.

After the cheese ball gate 2010, we took a nap. After our nap, we got ready and went to Matt's parents house. The best way for me to have a good time at the in-laws is to drink wine. And drink wine I did. After the gathering at the in-laws, we stopped by my parents. My brother's girlfriend has other places to be Christmas morning so we always exchange gifts with her on Christmas eve.

Christmas morning we woke up and exchanged gifts with each other and the pups. No surprises as far as our gifts went. I got us each new socks and underwear. I bought myself a new day planner. Very exciting. Little Vinnie got some tennis balls and a toy. Ozzy got a blanket and a toy. And Miss Princess got a jacket and a blanket.

Then we went over to my parent's house to open gifts. All 3 pups went with us. I got new dishes, a gas card, and some perfume that I wanted. Matt and I both got Cardinals stocking caps. Matt is wearing his below. Matt got a ton of Menard's cards and a hooded sweatshirt. And a deep fryer.

Then we left all the pups at mom's with her two dogs and went to my uncle's for my dad's side of the family's party. It's always a good time. We got there around 1 pm and began drinking immediately.

Don't worry though, I stuck with beer until around 6.

Drunken bingo started at 3 pm. Everyone always has a good time with bingo. This year my mom and my uncle, who is my godfather, couldn't seem to win a game to save their lives. So they were a little bitter.

This picture is of most of my older cousins and our significant others. Notice the socks Matt is wearing. He won those during drunken bingo. And he bought the reindeer tie as a joke to wear.

This pictures is of my reester and I.

After Christmas at Uncle Loaded's we went to the bar. Needless to say, I didn't make it very long until I went back to mom's. Matt came back there later and we all stayed the night there.

Oh and about the cheese balls, no one bitched. One of my aunts even asked for my recipe.

Sunday we were supposed to go to Matt's mom's family Christmas but we didn't feel well so we went home and took a nap.

I'm taking Thursday off work. I have vacation days to burn. Friday night I believe we are going to have a New Year's get together at our house.

I'm going to wait until after the new year to do another "Facebook Funnies".

Hope you all had a great Christmas and a very Happy New Year!

All over the place

- We had my mom's side of the family's Christmas this past Saturday. A good time was had by all.

- Sunday we did close to nothing. Mom and Dad came over. Dad and Matt put up a storm door with a doggy door between the house and the attached garage. The first storm door they put up a couple months ago took them around like 6 hours to do. This one took an hour and a half. They are thinking about doing storm door installation together. But only if they can drink beer while they are hanging them.

- The pups are kind of on a diet. Before we got Miss Princess, the boys had food sitting out for them all day everyday. They run around enough that they don't get fat. They both actually got moistened puppy food in the mornings to help keep weight on them. Miss Princess took advantage of having food sitting out all day. She has gotten a little chunky. She even needs help getting on the couch. So now the pups all get breakfast, moistened puppy food for the boys and moistened adult food for Miss Princess. And then they get dinner in the evenings. Everyone seems to be adjusting well.

- Yesterday was my daddy's birthday. He turned 32 for the 19th time.

- I got my grades the other day. I got all A's again this semester so I still have a 4.0. Matt did very well in his classes too.

- I don't have all my Christmas shopping done. I still need to get two gift cards and a gift for Matt's brother.

- I have a ton of other errands to run before Christmas too. Hair tonight. Eye appointments tomorrow. Miss Princess has to get her hair done Thursday. Need to get to the grocery store. Blah blah blah.

- I need a good cheese ball recipe. Soon. One without 5,000 ingredients that I don't know what the hell they even are have. Please help.

- We still have 5 Christmas gatherings to attend. The good news is that I'm pretty sure I have Matt talked into running away next Christmas. We're thinking Texas.

- I'm not sure if I'll blog again before Christmas. Hope you all have a very Merry Christmas and that Santa finds you all!

Random Pictures

This one is from last weekend when we went camping. The pups were lounging while I was making soup. Please excuse the mess on the bed, the camper is not that big.

Princess's birthday present came via UPS yesterday. I always love coming home to a package on the porch, even if it is for one of the dogs. We got her her own camping chair. She likes it.

I also found this in the mail box yesterday. I almost crapped my pants.

Thankfully, it's just junk mail for some kind of phone activation, not Army activation. I had flashbacks for a second of sleeping with my phone next to me and the instant messenger on. I'd prefer not to have any "activation notices" sent to our address.

Hope you all have a great weekend and a Happy Halloween!
