Weekend recap & Xmas decorations

We had a great Thanksgiving. I ate too much. Although, yesterday I stepped on the scale and it said I didn't gain any weight. Uhhhh, we'll go with that.

My friend makes cakes and stuff on the side and she made this for me to take to my grandparents. It's a turkey made out of cupcakes. Funfetti cupcakes. My favorite. They were awesome.

Here is a group of misfits at grandma's. Bottom - my brother and his girlfriend. Top - the hubs, me, my reester, and her man friend.

Here's the boys enjoying one of the last nice days of the year, most likely. They pretty much act like this all the time outside.

Friday night I worked. It was a descent time.

Saturday I put up the tree and Matt hung up the lights outside. You can find picture of the outside lights and stuff here. They pretty much look the same this year as last.

I did add some new stuff to the tree this year. I got the silver ribbons on it on clearance last year after Christmas for like 2 bucks.

I ordered an ornament for each of the pups a month or so ago.

Here's Ozzy's

And Mr. Ozzy himself

Princess's ornament

Miss Princess

Vinnie's ornament

Little Vinnie

And no, it wasn't easy to get any of them to sit in front of the tree so that I could take a picture.

Sunday we skipped the family thing we were supposed to go to, laid around, and did homework.

Oh and if you recently started following my blog, please leave a comment so I can check your blog out. For some reason, it won't let me go to your blog from my list of followers. Please and thank you.

Hope you all had a great weekend and ate a ton of goodies!

*** "Facebook Funnies" will probably be Thursday or Friday this week. I have some good ones. ***

Why's it have to be so hot?

Yesterday my boss took myself and the department I spend about half my time working for to the Cardinals vs. Phillies game. This is where are seats were. These are by far the best seats I have ever had at a game, as far as the view goes.

It was so freaking hot yesterday. Not just the itshotandimuncomfortable type of heat. It was like the itssohotthatmybeeriswarmbeforeigetbacktomyseatandimmiserableandsweating likeamoose kind of heat. At one point, I think I could feel my brain boiling. I had to make the switch to water around the third inning. Our seats were in the direct sun all day. At one point, the scoreboard said it was 100 degrees. I'm guessing this was minus the head index and minus the fact that it was exceptionally humidy. And we lost.

The boss took us out to eat on the way home and dinner was good, I think. My brain was still fried at that point.

While I was gone yesterday, the boys had to get their haircut. I brought them to my mom's yesterday morning and she took them to the groomer in the afternoon. Then she brought them back to her house so they could run around the yard and play for awhile. She brought them home around 7 last night. And I got home shortly after that. They were tired last night and Vinnie almost slept all night. Don't they look adorable?

Thanks for taking care of our boys yesterday mom! We all love you.

And I'm not going to lie anymore, I miss Matt. I work tonight so at least I'll get a little bit of human interaction.

Hope you all have a great weekend! I'll be busy working, cuddling with the pups, and finishing my mission list.

Poor Little Fella

This weekend was drill weekend. Here's the thing, do I miss my husband when he is gone? Yes. Do I sit around and whine about it? No. Do I make the most of the time while he is gone? Yes. Do I somewhat enjoy a little alone time? You bet I do. Next month he has to go to Wisconsin for some kind of training for two weeks.

I got a ton of stuff done this weekend. Laundry, vacuuming, deep cleaning the kitchen and bathrooms, napping, working on my tan, pulling weeds, watering my bushes and plants, playing with the pups.

Speaking of pups, Ozzy had diarrhea this weekend. It started Saturday and I made sure that he was eating and drinking so he wouldn't get dehydrated. He was still active all weekend and didn't act sick. Without going into too many details, I'll tell you that by last night I was beginning to be concerned.

This morning I took him to the vet. He has an inflamed colon, which I guess is quite common in little dogs. I got horse sized pills I have to give him and a syringe full of liquid for a couple days. I'm hoping if I tell him the pills are snacks that he will eat them but I probably won't get that lucky. Poor little fella. I hope it stops soon.

Hope you all have a good week!

Bullets, Concerts, and An Award

First and foremost, the Silver Bullet is alive and kicking. One of our buddy's grease monkeys fixed her. We Matt bought the water pump and I assume anti-freeze and gave him a $100 cash. Our buddy guaranteed this guy could fix it. He wouldn't lie to us or try to screw us. So it cost us $155. Not bad. She runs like a champ again. And he even vacuumed her out.

This weekend we are going to an all day concert at the fairgrounds that is within stumbling walking distance of our house. We got a pup sitter for Saturday night. Thanks Mommy! If we just had Ozzy he could stay home. He has a doggie door and he's content being home alone. Vinnie has to stay in his pen while we are gone because he's so tiny that he could sneak under the fence and he'd tear the house up. I made sure to tell her that little Vinnie is far from perfect.

I think we are actually going to bring the camper there and sleep in it. My brother is going to bring his too so it should be a good time. Hey, at least we won't be camping in the driveway again. There are 5 bands that are going to be there: Back Porch Mary, Jason Boland, Matt Poss, Zach Huckabee, and John D. Hale Band. I love, love, love, Back Porch Mary. I could not be more pumped. I'm just hoping the weather cooperates.

Over the last two weeks I received this award twice. Once from A Lady in Waiting @ A True Long Distance Relationship and from Whitney @ Everything Happens for a Reason. Thank you both so much! I never expected for anyone to read my blog besides my mom and husband so for people to give me awards and stuff is totally unexpected and appreciated.

The rules say to pass it on to 10 other blogs. I've seen this on about 75% of the blogs I read so I'm going to skip that. If you haven't received it, considered it yours. I wouldn't follow your blog if it were not "sweet".

Hope you all have a great weekend!

Our weekend

Matt was gone this weekend doing his drill for the Reserves. His unit consists of 12 or 13 people right now and they can't even drill where they are supposed to because they don't have any equipment. I mean nothing. No Humvees. No helicopters. (My husband re-fuels helicopters.) No helmets. Nothing.

He got to fill out paperwork this weekend. And he got a flu shot. He already sounds like crap so I'm sure he will get sick. (I'm kinda anti-flu shot.) In December, he has some kind of Christmas party on the Sunday of his drill. He told them that I would go. Which is fine, I will go. I never got to do any of the go-to-formal-functions-while-your-husband-wears-his-class-A's things.

Problem is: I don't wear dresses. The last time I wore a dress was our wedding and before that was probably my high school graduation. I'm too short for long dresses and my legs are too chubby for short dresses. Do I care... NO. I just don't wear dresses. What's a chubby legged girl to do?

Anyway... I was all by my lonesome self this weekend. I wrote a 4 page paper, which is pretty good. I started my other paper. I studied for my test tomorrow. I cleaned our house, floors and all. I became addicted to Farmville. I napped on the couch with Ozzy, both Saturday and Sunday afternoon. I went shopping. I applied for scholarships. I caught up on my DVR. It was nice.

Happy Monday!

Poor Ozzy

I took Ozzy to the vet this morning to be neutered. It was a sad morning. We both cried a little. He wouldn't kiss me goodbye. He hates the vet. I made sure to tell him that it was daddy's idea and not mine.

I get scared when he has to be knocked out. I cried when I took him there to get his teeth cleaned.

I hope his personality doesn't change too much. I love the little guy just how he is.

Poor little booger. I wonder if its too late to go pick him up and tell them to forget it.

Grumpy McGrumperson

Quitting smoking sucks!!! Not just a little but a whole lot. I'm doing fairly well. I have been rationing myself cigerettes. 9 Tuesday. 8 Wednesday. 7 Thursday. And 6 today. 5 Tomorrow. 4 Sunday. 3 Monday.... Yeah you get the picture.

The only problem is I am grouchy as hell. Even little things make me mad. I wish I could bitch about work on here but I'm just not that stupid. I'm afraid someone from here would stumble across it and I would get it trouble. If you would like to know how it is pissing me off, email me. I would love to vent.

Ozzy is getting his balls cut off on Tuesday. I feel horrible about that but he is not adjusting well to the move. He is 7 and I think its cruel as hell to do this but if it will help it will be worth it. Its either that or he will be living in the garage.

So... I'm just gonna sit here and chew gum and be grouchy.

Happy Birthday Ozzy!!!

Tomorrow my little boy turns 7. Ozzy is one of the best friends I have ever had. (Its ok if you think I'm nuts cause I probably am a little.) To read a paper I wrote about Ozzy for school click here.

Tomorrow Ozzy will be showered with hugs and kisses. We may just have to take a nap together. And he will get to go to our new house again and chase some birds.

I'm going to get Ozzy a new toy, some bones, and a new bed for our new house.

Happy Birthday Oz!!!

25 Reasons why I love my husband more than anything

He is my hero.
He loves me for me.
He thinks I’m beautiful.
He tells me how proud of me he is.
He knows about stuff that I have no idea about.
He makes me happy just be being there.
He works hard for us.
He is goofy and I think it’s cute.
He tells me when I do a good job.
He knows more about me than ANYONE.
He makes me a better person
He thinks I’m sexy even though I’ve gained probably 20 pounds since we been together.
He tells me I’m his everything.
He has sent me tons of flowers just because.
He is everything to me.
He does not get jealous.
He appreciates me.
He is strong – mentally, physically, and emotionally.
He is mine… all mine.
He loves Ozzy and Ozzy loves him.
He wants to be with me forever.
He misses me.
He wants me to have his babies.
He makes me laugh and smile.
We are the best thing we’ve ever had.

Navy boys and chain length

I didn't get to go shopping this weekend. My husband was well behaved. I would rather him behave than have nice purses anyway.

I had a busy weekend and once again I am glad it is Monday. I worked Friday and Saturday night. Friday night I went out for a little while after work.

See, my seester went to Hawaii on vacation with some of her friends in March. She met a boy. My sister has never been one to need or have a man. This boy is in the Navy and stationed at Pearl Harbor. He came to the middle of the cornfields to see her this weekend. So Friday night I met up with them. Seester never brought this boy over to meet the family and I'm pretty sure mom is upset about that.

He seems like a nice guy and I'm glad I got to meet him. But if he breaks my seester's heart. I'll be making a trip to Hawaii. He did say he doesn't want to get married... ever. I thought all military guys were all about getting married.

Moving on....

Mommy and Daddy put up a chain length fence in our yard this weekend so now Ozzy can start going to the house with me. He is going to love it.

Everything is falling together nicely at our house. We still have a few things to buy but I want to wait till Matt gets home so he can help pick some stuff out. I'll make sure to post some new pictures soon.

Two weeks from tomorrow I get to go to Seattle, possibly for the last time. (Matt will have to sign out in September, not sure if I'll go with him.) It's bittersweet. Sometimes I love it there and other times I hate it there. I will not miss having to "visit" him there. But I will miss the fact that there is always something to do.

Anywho... have a good Monday!!!

Less than 100 days

Matt only has 87 days left before he can come home and STAY home FOREVER. The Army has helped us start a future but has also made us both angry more than once.

87 days left!!!

I love you baby and can't wait for you to be home with me and Ozzy.

My little dog

A paper I wrote for school:

Sometimes the greatest form of friendship is between a person and his or her dog. My dog, Ozzy, and I have been outstanding friends since the day my parents gave him to me almost seven years ago. I was asleep on a hot afternoon in July when they came home with my beautiful, tiny, fuzzy, white puppy. They put him next to me in my bed and he immediately started licking my face. I could smell the distinctive puppy smell and I immediately knew he was mine.

Now Ozzy is almost seven years old and his appearance has changed some from when he was a puppy. My tiny dog is a male Maltese and has straight, silky, white hair that must be groomed. Sometimes in the winter, I let him grow his hair longer and by the way he struts around when his hair is long, I can tell he enjoys it. He weights a little under eight pounds and the top of his back is only six inches from the ground. Ozzy has bright, attentive, coal black, eyes. He watches every move that I make to make sure he does not miss anything.

My miniature dog is a very dedicated and loyal companion to me. My room is in the basement and Ozzy will wait at the top of the stairs for me until I come back upstairs if I do not let him go into the basement with me. He also sleeps by the back door during the day while I am at work, waiting for me to come home. He cries sometimes because he is sad that he cannot always be with me. He usually has dark tear stains under his eyes on his cotton white fur. In addition, if Ozzy is sitting on my lap, he will bark, growl, and/or snap at anyone who tries to touch me. If I am out in the garage smoking, he will sit and wait for me to finish, no matter if he has just woke up or if he is in the middle of playing. He loves merely being next to me. When I am sleeping, if I roll over, he will reposition himself so that he is always touching me. Also, if I cry, Ozzy will cry right along with me and will usually lick the tears from my face.

My dog’s demeanor is also very unique and like able. One of Ozzy’s favorite activities is to bark at and chase birds in the backyard. He will sneak out the doggy door and run so quickly that his hair is flowing in the wind and bark at the birds. He loves to play fetch too and will chase a rope as long as someone will keep throwing it for him. He will growl when the person tries to take the rope back from him but he will keep bringing it to them and let them try to take it. Ozzy loves his toys so much that he always has one next to him when he sleeps. I assume this is in case he wakes up and wants to play right away. He also likes to play with my mom’s Maltese, Chloe. They will chase each other around the house and play fight in the middle of the living room, then do it all over again until she becomes worn out.

Although he only weighs eight pounds, he acts as if he is a Great Dane. He will bark at big dogs outside our fenced in yard, as if saying, “This is my yard. Stay away!” My cousin has brought his dog, Smokey, over to our house with him before. He is a lab mix and a very laid-back dog. Ozzy will bark at and snap at Smokey even though he is ten times bigger than him. Additionally, whenever a car pulls up or the doorbell ring, Ozzy barks and lets the person approaching the house know that it is “his house” and he is the boss.

In addition to being a tough guy, my miniature dog is also very affectionate. He loves to kiss me. Sometimes, it becomes a little annoying when I am trying to do other things, such as talking on the phone, but I know it is just because he loves me and wants to show it. Although Ozzy loves to play, he is always more than willing to take a nap with me simply to be able to spend more time with me. If I say that we are going to take a nap, he will run as fast as he can to my room, jump on the bed, and wait for me to lie down. He loves my husband, my mom, and his Aunt Shelley just as he loves me. He kisses them and lies by them just as he does with me. Even though Ozzy has more energy than he needs, he would lay still and let anyone rub his belly for as long as they want to and then beg for more. He will close his eyes and breath deep while he or she does so.

Furthermore, Ozzy is very smart. If someone tells him to go outside, he will go out and do his business. When he comes back in, he will stand in the kitchen by his snack jar, anxiously waiting for someone to give him a snack. When we are in my room and I reach for his snack jar there, Ozzy will jump up and down, wag his tail, and often bark because he knows his snacks and bones are in there, too. When I come home with bags from Wal-Mart, he becomes excited, as well, because he knows that I sometimes buy him toys and bones from there. In addition, if I say “Grandma,” “Grandpa,” “Aunt Shelley,” or “Uncle Lyle,” Ozzy understands exactly whom I am talking about. For example, if he is barking because someone has pulled up in the driveway, I will tell him that it’s only Uncle Lyle and he will stop barking and continue with playing with his toys or napping. I can also tell him to have grandma to give him a snack and he will go in the kitchen, bark and aggravate my mom until she gives him a snack.

I’m not sure how my parents picked out a puppy that was so absolutely perfect for me but I’m very thankful that they did. Ozzy really knows how to enjoy the simple things in life and let the bad things pass. Although he is spoiled rotten, he knows that I am the boss and he never stays mad at me for very long. When I yell at him he will even let out a heavy sigh. Ozzy is truly one friend that I will never forget.
