When life hands you lemons.....

First of all, thanks for all the birthday wishes on here and on facebook.  30 isn't so bad, so far.

Friday we headed out, in the rain, to go camping.  I may have celebrated too hard Friday night.  In my defense, one of my BFF's came and camped with us so I pretty much had to.

Saturday, we did quite a bit of laying around, napping, relaxing, and eating.

Sunday we to a Cardinals game with my mom and dad for Father's Day.  It was the first game I have been to this year.  Our seats were in the second row in lowest level in right field.  In my opinion, they were the best seats I've ever had.

It was only about 150 degrees at the game and the lack of a breeze made it very comfortable.  But we all had a good time.  Dad and Matt drank our beer vendor out of Bud Select and mom and I kept ourselves hydrated with water.  We all had a good time and the Cardinals won.

Monday morning, my car crapped out.  It wouldn't start when I turned the key and then it would try starting when the keys weren't in the ignition.  One day last week, when I turned the key to start it, the truck popped.  Uh yeah, I was confused.

Matt diagnosed the problem as the battery was junk and the cables that connect to it were corroded.  Whatever that means.  I kept giving him crap that the car was a lemon.  Its a 2000.  So obviously it will have some issues once in awhile.  Since I've been driving it we've only had to do several maintaince type things. But I can still give him crap if I want.

Matt and his buddy fixed my car last night.  The only problem is that my boom booms (subs) aren't hooked up.  It was Matt's car first and you know how men are with their accessories.  I never realized how much I liked the boom booms until I drove the car this morning.  He's supposed to get a longer bolt (or something) and hook them back up tonight.

I also wanted to let you know that I entered a giveway over at Utterly Chaotic Designs.  I'm really hoping to win since my blog is all jacked up.  Send me some good vibes and go by there and check her stuff out.  Brea is one of the most talented designers I've seen.  And her prices are very reasonable.

Hope you are all having a great week!

GIVEAWAY - My Favorite Things

Last week I hit 100 followers so I decided to do a giveaway to show you all how much I appreciate you taking an interest in my life. This giveaway is sponsored by no one but myself and all opinions are my own.

The whole shabang

A Febreze air freshner deal - This one doesn't have to be plugged in and doesn't take batteries. And it smells awesome. I love them.

Brown sugar and vanilla body spray, lotion, and bubble bath. This is one of my favorite scents.

Sexy hair samples - shampoo, conditioner, and some kind of revitalization stuff. It's my favorite shampoo and the revitalization stuff does wonders for my hair.

Uniball pens - Words cannot describe how awesome these pens are. I'm kind of a pen freak and I have trouble using any pens but these.

A magnetic pad of paper for making lists - I'm also a list making freak.

Soul Gravy - My favorite CD by my favorite band, Cross Canadian Ragweed. The louder the better, I promise.

Tate's lotion and chapstick - This stuff is awesome. The lotion has about a bazillion different uses from conditioner to skin care. It's all natural so it's great for someone with sensitive skin, like myself.
Birthday Cake candle - My favorite scent of candle, by far.

To enter my giveaway you must be a follower and leave a comment saying that you would like to win.

For extra entries:

1 extra entry if you blog about it
1 extra entry for each new follower that says they were referred by you
1 extra entry if you already have or add my button to your blog
2 extra entries if you link up with my next "Facebook Funnies". It will be next week some time.

The giveaway ends Tuesday, March 8th at 4:00 p.m. central time.

Please comment on this blog for all entries, either separate comments for each entry or let me know in one comment all the entries you deserve.

Thanks again, for following my blog. I am grateful for each and every one of you.

Kitchen Makeover

I told you all awhile back that I was working on redoing the kitchen in a red, white, and blue theme. Before the makeover, I had a bunch of lighthouse and beachy stuff in the kitchen. I've been collecting lighthouses for years and quite frankly, I'm sick of them. I only have two before pictures.

Our kitchen and dining room are one room basically and the dining room has french doors that open to our deck. (That I love.)

After pictures....

My mommy made these place mats.

I got this runner for $4 on clearance after the 4th of July.

I love this picture. It's not obnoxious red, white, and blue. I think it has just the right amount. And these sconces I painted silver. Did you know that on all of the internet, you can't buy silver sconces?

New globe lights my little brother put up.
The old ones were gold and ugly.
Not sure what I was watching on TV.

New hanging light my brother put up.
Again, the old one was gold, ugly, and not centered on the table.

Stove and stuff. We put new drawer pulls on the drawers to go with the new silver motif.

Found these on clearance.

Clearance

Notice the curtains match the placemats?

French doors to the deck

Clearance

We are getting a stainless steel or stainless steel look a like refrigerator in the spring.

Corner shelf deal

My favorite decoration on the corner shelf.

The boys helping me take pictures.

Also, awhile back I won a bracelet and key chain made from 550 cord from Reina at Semper Gumby... The Return of Sunshine. Matt used my set of keys shortly after and said, "Hey that's 550 cord! Where did you get that?" My response, "Don't worry about it." Thanks again Reina!

200th Post

Yes that is correct, this is my 200th post. When I started my blog, I had no idea what it would turn into. My blog has not only been a journal and a way to vent but it has also become a source of support because of all of you. So thank you all for following me, commenting, and giving me advise when I need it.

In honor of my 200th post, I'm going to open things up for you. Feel free and please do ask me any questions you would like. Ask one. Ask two. Ask three. However many you want. They can be about anything, big or small.

I'll be laid-up all weekend because I'm getting knocked out and having two teeth extracted tomorrow. My head might be too cloudy to post until Monday though.

Also, be on the look-out because I'm going to be doing a give-away very soon.

Have a great weekend!

Button and a Fabulous Giveaway!

Last week Mrs. Gambizzle at Life as a Sailor's Girl made me this awesome button. I always wanted a button and she was generous enough to spend her time making me one. Thanks again!

So, grab my button and let me know and I'll grab yours.

Grab My Button

I hope I did that right. I'm semi-button challenged.

She is also doing a giveaway for a free blog make-over. I do love my layout now but sometimes change is good. I really want to win. If you want to help me stop by here and tell her I sent you. If you don't follow her already, you are missing out. She has the cutest pups and as I already mentioned, she is super generous.

Giveaway Winner!

Last night at 7 p.m., my giveaway came to an end. I didn't use a Mr. Hat or whatever you can find on the internet these days. I did the drawing the old fashion way. Here are all the entries in a bowl.

I had the hubby draw a winner. No peeking.

Even little Vinnie helped.

And the winner is ................

Mrs. S. from The Adventures of Mr. Superman and Mrs. S. So Mrs S, please e-mail me your address to imwatchingairplanes@yahoo.com and your prize will be on its way. Congrats!

Giveaway because I'm a winner!

I won a great giveaway from Random Musing of My Life. This is the second giveaway I have one from her. It always great to win her giveaways because she puts some fun little surprises in the package. And who doesn't like surprises? This is all the good stuff I received.

The best part is that because she loves me so much she is so generous she is allowing me to have a giveaway and is going to send my winner a Lysol No-Touch Hand Soap System. I was stoked to get mine. It's so nice by the kitchen sink, just slid your hand under it and out comes the soap. And it smells great too. Thanks again!

Here how you can enter:

1. Leave me a comment saying you want to win. (1 entry)
2. Follow me. (1 entry)
3. Blog about my giveaway and let me know. (1 entry)
4. Follow Random Musings of My Life and let me know. She is awesome. (1 entry)

I'll draw a winner May 12th at 7:00 central time and let you all know the next morning. Good luck!

I'm a winner

Holy crap!!! I won a giveaway. Actually, the only giveaway I have ever entered. This is amazing to me. I always say that I say that I couldn't win bingo if I was the only one that was playing. Pretty sure I wasn't the only one that entered either.

I won a book from Random Musings of my Life. She is a super cool chick that loves shoes, bargains, shopping, and shopping for shoes that are a bargain. Oh and she is Canadian and I think Canadians rock!!!

So go over to her page and check her out. She will be giving away more books in the near future.

Thanks for making my day!!!
