I've fallen off the wagon

I need help! On Thursday, my total weight loss was 20 pounds. The last 8 or so have been rough. I've been at this since the middle of March. I know 20 pounds in 5 months isn't that great. But my clothes fit better, I don't feel like such a lardass, and I feel like I have more energy.

That being said, I have fallen off the wagon. Thursday night we went to the fair and I got a funnel cake and a strawberry shake-up. And I ate some of Matt's cheese fries. But we live right across the street from the fairgrounds and I swear I could smell the funnel cakes all week.

I ate like a pig this weekend, drank about a bazillion calories, and sat around most of the time we camped. Since then, things have not gotten any better. I made a huge pasta casserole Monday night and we've been eating leftovers of it ever since.

And it's been so hot and humid that I haven't wanted to do anything when I get home from work.

This is what I had for breakfast today:

But in my defense, one of the girls brought them in and she knows funfetti cupcakes are my favorite. It's not like I stopped on the way to work in search of one.

My jeans feel tight now and my arms seem a little more jiggly than normal.

I need to do something, quick. This is not good. I'm not weighing in this week because I don't even want to know.

Maybe I need to just look at the big picture and realize this is just a small setback. How do I get back on the wagon?

I had two realizations that got be back on the Weight Watchers wagon. (Because that's the wagon that works for me!)

1.) I'm worth it. I'm worth the $40/month. I'm worth cost of healthy food. I'm worth the time it takes to prepare said healthy food. I always put everything or everyone else first. I had to stop doing that.

2.) Weight loss is like a bicycle ride. If you fall off the bike and tumble into a ditch, you don't lay there and wait until Monday morning. You would crawl out of the ditch and at least start walking your bike home. Right?

I don't know if those two things make any sense, but they are what are keeping me motivated. I also went and found a whole bunch of awesome weight loss blogs. I figured I found a whole new support group through military blogs, so why not do the same with weight loss!

You can do this! You're worth it!

Start Fresh! Maybe force yourself to do a really good work out and it will get you on track. It's probably best to loose weight slow anyhow-that's what they say. That's about lb a week.

You are doing so well. A weekend binge is NOT going to derail you - so don't let it. Think about how much better you'll feel when you're filling your belly with healthy food instead of dealing with blood sugar spikes and crashes. You can do it!

We all have our ups and downs. I am losing my weight slow and I have become ok with that. At first that was hard to swallow, pun intended, because of course we all want it to just fall off!

Dont beat yourself up, today is a new day. Go to the store and stock up on fresh and healthy foods, maybe go for a walk. Just dont dwell on the yucky eating

I lost 10 lbs in just about 12 days eating oatmeal for two meals a day. Amazing!

Well crap. I just read Superman's comment and now I'll be trying THAT diet.
Don't worry, 20 lbs is a good number for that time!!
You have to lose slowly so it stays off. I guess. That's what I hear. It sucks. I know it does.
But hello, I would have eaten that thing too!

Just pick a day coming up soon and start all over again. If you want something sweet you could always get those 100 calorie packs. However, I find that I sit there and continue to eat the packs lol.

Just pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and start over. This is just a little bump in the road and you can get over it. 20 pounds is amazing! You should be so proud of yourself and I know you'll get back on track :)

First off Congrats on loosing 20lbs! Thats great! 20 pounds in 5 months is great, you did it a healthy way and it will stay off. Ive lost 18 since January and its hard right now with cookouts and wanting to have a few more cold beers than normal.

Try and just set a day like Monday I am back to being good. However I've read if you yo-yo your calories it tricks your body and will help you loose more if you are wanting to. When your body gets used to a certain amount of low calories it adapts and doesnt want to let go of any of them. Also try and change your work out up.

The main thing dont beat yourself up for having a "bad" week. We all have those, blame it on hormones..lol. Good luck with everything and good job again!

Congrats on losing 20 lbs!! That's a great accomplishment in itself. Eating ONE cupcake isn't going to make you gain back those 20 lbs. So, just start fresh! Don't beat yourself up for it. Just stay positive that you are losing weight!
