I
We went to the bar after the party and proceeded to drink even more. By the end of the night I fit in. This is probably not healthy. I felt like crap yesterday. I swore off drinking.
I just want to start our own family and own traditions. And not have to worry about anything outside of that.
Which brings me to the next thought I've been having. Christmas is totally blow out of proportion. Isn't it supposed to be about spending time with family and loved ones? Why does it have to be all about gifts. I mean, everyone shells out a bunch of money and swaps presents. A lot of times, it's stuff you don't even need or want. And for what?
I can understand if you have kids you would want to spoil them a little. But I'm an adult. I don't need anything. We have spoiled ourselves enough this year. I would like to boycott gift giving/receiving next year but that would probably never work.

good point about what x-mas should really be about. People get way too caught up in the buying aspect
I am with ya on the gift giving and receiving. This year the hubs and I are not getting each other anything and just focusing on the kids and our time together
I love Christmas ... I do think the gift-giving has been blown out of proportion ... but still, I like giving gifts that make people happy, even more than receiving gifts.
My sister HATES being around big crowds especially people she doesnt know. She even struggles at big family get togethers.
I agree with you on the present thing. Sometimes it feels like we are just exchanging money. We need to concentrate on what the season is about not just giving or getting gifts.
I don't do well with others either. Small talk blows. I never know what to say. I feel out of place. Then I insert myself needlessly into conversations. And I tend to come across as a bitch. Not cool. Glad I'm not alone.
I have a Christmas party next weekend and I have the feeling I'll be doing the same thing you did!
