The last week or so, I have felt the need to get a second job for the summer. I miss having to actually do physical work. I think that getting a summer job that involves actual work would be good for me. I think having to work hard is a good thing, in some respects. And I almost forget what working hard is like. I also need something to do when Matt has to go to drill. There is only so much house cleaning this girl can do. Plus, I'm only taking an online class this summer.
I talked to one of my friends that still works at Denny's. (I was the GM there when I was 22.) I was honestly (not trying to toot my horn here) the best cook I ever had there. It was hard work and good exercise. Anywho, I talked to my friend and told her that I would cook with her on Saturday mornings over the summer. I called there yesterday to talk to the GM. She was one of my assistant managers when I worked there. She said I was nonrehirable for life. I walked out of there because another assistant was trying to get me fired and because I was 22 and sick of working 70 a week. I laughed. Nonrehirable. For Life. Me? Oh well, her loss, not mine.
I have another idea though. It involves slinging drinks at a Veteran's bar in the town we live in. We'll see. I'm going to work on that this week. I hope it works out.
I don't want to work a lot. Just one or two nights a week or less. I'm just getting burnt out on sitting on my butt all day playing desk jockey.
However, I do not want a second job bad enough to go back to my last job. I know I could go back there but there are just too many teenagers and too much drama. Nobody there wants to grow up.
Hope you are all having a good week and enjoying the warmer weather!

Congrats on the second job!!!
G'luck! Just try not to let a 2nd job stress ya.
wow! nonrehirable! I would have walked out too!
Good luck! I think that whole nonrehirable for life thing is a bit extreme!
bartending could be lucrative ... lots of good tips, depending on the night you work. Just gotta watch out for the cigarette smoke.
Good luck on the 2nd job! I'm sure you'll find something that suits your need. You could always try an arts and crafts store. I worked at one of those in college and it was actually a lot of work.
You're so ambitious, I love it! Working at a Vet bar slinging drinks would be a an absolute hoot, imagine all the great stories you'd hear (and all the great blog fodder)!! :)
Good luck!
Good luck getting the job!
