I did something I said I'd never do.

I broke down and got a smart phone.

I've been due for an upgrade for about 3 months.  I was getting antsy to get a new phone.  Apparently, they don't make descent phones anymore that aren't smart phones.

I went back and forth with getting one for the last 3 months.  I checked my e-mail and sometimes facebook on my old phone when we would go camping and sometimes in class but that's about it.  I didn't pay for a data package so it would only cost a couple bucks a month.

I called Verizon and threw a fit that I wanted a limited data package if I was going to have to get a smart phone.  That did not work.  But we were able to lower our shared minutes.  We also switched the account to Matt's name and are getting a military discount.  (15% I believe)  So, it's really not going to cost anymore for me to have a smart phone.

So yesterday, I decided to make the plunge.  I took an early lunch, went to the Verizon store, picked out the LG Vortex, and was sent on my way.  I got back to work and had a fit.  Let me back track a little bit.  My old phone was all touch screen so I thought I'd be fine with one that was all touch screen.  So anyway, this Vortex, the touch screen was super sensitive.  It was constantly spelling the wrong words.  And I gave up on trying to figure the damn thing out.

I called Verizon. I was pissed off at the world.  And told them I was bring the phone back.  I talked to the boss, who I had dealt with during my purchasing of the phone.  I told her I either wanted one I could work or I wanted my old one turned back on.  She recommended the Ally.  It was a touchscreen but also a slide out keyboard.  And she also said she'd waive the re-stocking fee.

After work, I went back and got the Ally.

The good news is I can text on it and I was able to answer a phone call.  The bad news is I won't have time to really mess with it until Sunday.  I think I should be able to figure out the basics.  I'm not 70 years old and I'm not mentally challenged but these new fangled contraptions are no joke.

Hope you all have a great weekend!

Don't you hate it when your kids wander into the bar when they know they're supposed to stay in the car?
Luckily, my kids don't have thumbs and can't get out of the car when I'm in the bar.  *rolls eyes*  I hope this person isn't serious.
51% of Americans have Facebook....even so, 99% of them still don't give a shit if you're "Excited to go shopping later"
My thoughts exactly.
You know you're a perve when you run out of ***** up things to type in to a porn search engine :-P
You know you are a perve when you are typing things into porn search engines period.
Ok now....Charlie Sheen was hospilized for a HERNIA. So remember kids, when you have a giant suitcase of coke....lift with your legs.
 Very good advice here.
my poor sweet baby keeps telling me she needs to go poop, and every time we sit on the potty she says she is going, but she is constipated i think, she is having a rough time. I am giving her a warm bath to try and help, hopefully it happens soon!
TMI! TMI! No one cares about your kids bowel movements.
If you wear a crash helmet when driving a car, people will stare...but I'll bet they get the **** out of your way!!
Yes, I bet they would get out of the way.  Maybe I'll try this one sometime.
Did a little landscaping around the house tonight...now I think it's time for some manscaping!

Camper Remodel

Last weekend we did some work to the camper. Here some before pictures:

And now after:

We got rid of the ugly carpet and added hardwood flooring.

We painted all the cabinet doors a dark brown.

We hung the cabinet above the table.  The table was also repainted.

This is an awesome cup I found on the Internet. For my mixed drinks.

When this posts, I hope to be using this cup.  Hope you all have a great weekend!

Miss Princess

I dropped Miss Princess off to get her hair cut this morning.  She always gets nervous about going.  I'm pretty sure she thinks I'm going to abandon her like the idiot we got her from.

She actually had a panic attack about 2 weeks ago.  We were messing around (not that kind of messing around) outside in the camper.  I had left all the dogs in the house.  The boys snuck out and Princess got left inside.  Then I let her out and she saw that the boys were in the camper.  I think she thought we were going to go camping without her.  For about a half an hour after we came inside, she was in freak-out mode.  Panting, shaking, crying.  I sat next to her and told her how pretty she was and that we'd never leave her.  She eventually calmed down.

Then the other night we had a really bad storm.  Tornado watches, hail, lots of wind, and stuff.  She freaked out again.

So this morning, I told the vets assistant about it.  (She gets groomed at the vets.)  They all know that she has been abused and neglected.  The vet's assistant said that lots of dogs are on medicine to keep them calm.  I'm just not sure that I want to drug her.  Maybe I could give it to her once in awhile if I know something is going to happen that will freak her out.  Anyway, I'm going to talk to the vet when I go pay for her hair-do after work.  My mom is going to pick her up around noon so she doesn't have to be there all day.  She's not spoiled at all.

Miss Princess has struggled with her weight since we got her.  Poor little thing, I can relate.  She got weighed this morning.  She's lost 1.3 pounds.  I guess we're going to have to keep walking so we can both have nice figures this summer.

My little diva

Hello Spring Break!

Sorry I haven't blogged lately.  I've been busy.  Also, last week I sort of felt like nothing I could say seemed that significant compared to what was going on in one of my blogger friend's lives.  Some of you should know what I'm talking about.

Thursday at 8:00 P.M. my Spring Break officially started.  I've been busy taking advantage of not having to write letters to imaginary people, do accounting for imaginary businesses, and reading chapters upon chapters for Business Law.  Thus far, it has been AWESOME!

The Cardinals seem to have gotten their act together, aside from the fact that our closing pitcher has lost 4 games for us.  But, overall, the season is getting better.

Saturday my parents came over and helped us do some stuff around the house and to the camper.  I will post a before and after of the camper.  I'll try to schedule it to post this weekend.  This weekend, we are going camping.  It's supposed to rain but we're bring the TV from the kitchen and a DVD player.  Hopefully I can get some snuggle time in with the pups and Matt.

Last night, my daddy took me mushroom hunting.  Not sure where in the U.S. they all grow and all that good stuff.  But they are growing here now.  I'm supposed to go again tonight with my cousin.  I don't really like to eat them and Matt said he's not sure if he likes them either.  So we mostly go just for fun.  I saw three turtles last night.  One of them scared the bajeezus out of me.  Turtles are weird.  And I found a tick in my hair last night.  Gross.  Oh well, it's worth getting to spend some quality time with my daddy.

We don't really have any plans Wednesday or Thurday night but I'm positive I'm going to be taking advantage of my time off of school in one way or another.

Hope you all have a great week!

I have some good "Facebook Funnies" and I plan on posting those with the link-up early next week.

Totally Random

  • We have been crazy busy.
  •  Two weeks until camping season officially begins for us.
  • I'm starting to get burnt out on school this semester.  I'm so ready for it to be over.  Matt texted me last night while I was at class and said he was on his way home from school.  My reply was, "I'm still here typing f-ing letters to imaginary people."  If anyone every looked at the files on my flash drive, they would think I am nuts.
  • I bought a carpet shampooer last week one day.  I figured in the long run it would be cheaper just to buy one.  So far, the carpet in the office is done and half of the spare bedroom.  Tuesday night we started on the spare bedroom and while getting the room ready I found all my old CD's.  I listened to some of them on the way to work this morning.  I found one mix with some Rolling Stones, Telsa, Van Halen, and Guns and Roses.  I was pumped.
  • The pups are loving the nice weather, little Vinnie especially.  We have doggie doors and a fenced-in yard. In the evenings, I have been leaving the big doors open so they can go outside if they want.  Vinnie spends most of the evening outside running laps and playing with his toys.  Sometimes I will look out the window to check on him and see a streak of black.
  • We ordered a cabinet for our camper last week and it came Tuesday.  I had called earlier in the day to see if it was one the way and how much exactly was the charge.  The shipping charge was $140.  I almost had a stroke.  I guess I can understand why it cost so much because it was in a wooden crate.  It seriously took us like 30 minutes to get it out of the crate.  The anticipation was overwhelming.
  • Mom and Dad are coming over next weekend to help us to finish some projects outside and in the camper (cabinet we got).
  •  It seems like I have been working more at the V lately.  But that will probably change as soon as camping season is in full effect.
  • One of my bosses told me this morning that she ordered me a new computer.  I'm hoping I can have the privilege of throwing the one I use now into the dumpster.  It's a ssssllllllllooooooooowww pile of crap.
Happy Thursday!  Hope it's a great one!

I'm a worried momma

What's up with this new posting view dealy?  I hope I'm computer savvy enough to figure it out.

This morning Ozzy had to go to the vet to get his teeth cleaned.  I always get nervous/worried when I have to take him there.  They have to put him under to clean them.  I may have got a little teary eyed when I told him "Be good, I'll be here to get you after work."  Poor little fella.

I really like his vet though and I made sure to tell the nurse that I would call "several times" to check on him.  I wonder how early is too early to check on him.

Ozzy and Matt got to watch most of the Opening Day game yesterday.  Unfortunately, the Cardinals lost.  But hey, it was only the first game.  I could not be more excited that baseball season is finally here.

So I want to know who watches baseball and who is your team?

Happy Friday!
