I have a descent job. Its a job that I like. My boss's are nice. Most of my co-workers are nice and only a few of them drive me nuts. I have worked at this job for almost three years. I consider it a real job and I could see myself staying here for years.
I also have a shit job. I wait tables and I'm almost 28 years old. I worked this shit job before my real job. At first I continued working there to pay off my debt, nothing major. Then Matt left for Iraq. So I kept working the shit job to stay busy and save some money while he was gone.
Now Matt is back and I really don't need to continue working there. But I do. I wanna do everything I can to give our future a decent head-start.
That being said, every time I go in there I go in with a good attitude. I try to always remember that it is extra money and there is no need to fret about anything that happens there. Well this good attitude usually fades rather quickly once I am there.
For example, last night was a private school in town's 8th grade graduation. The management knew they were coming. The place closes at 9:30. At 8:30 literally 150 people walk in the doors. Normally on a busy night I will have a 4 table station. When these people showed up I had 8 tables full of rich, snobby 8th graders and their parents.
Normally on parties of 8 or more we can add 18% gratuity so that we don't get hosed. None of the other servers added the gratuity so I didn't either. Big mistake. Those rich bastards didn't tip worth a shit. I don't even think some of the teenieboppers paid me for their bill. Needless to say, by the time they left I was pissed. After something like this happens, its very hard for me to remember that its just a second job.
I got home around 11:30 and had to be to work this morning at my real job at 8:00. Before I go to bed every night I always ask myself if I am proud of my actions during the course of the day. Most nights there is always something I feel I could have done better. Maybe I am too hard on myself and maybe I expect too much from myself. I don't know. I do know that most times I work at my second job I leave feeling as if I have let myself down in some way or another.

Home sweet.... not yet
The house situation:
We found a house we love. Its in Altamont which will be far enough away that my parents won't be over every night but close enough for me to possibly make it to work on time everyday. The guy that owns the house bought it from a repo and totally remodeled it. New carpet. New hardwood floors. New lights. New french doors to the new huge deck. New driveway and sidewalks. Its the only house I looked at the felt like home when I walked in.
Anyway, the people that the house got repoed from must have had some kinda loan that had something to do with the title of the house. When the guy that owns it now bought it the title company said the title was clear and he has insurance on the title (?). The owner and the title company just have to get their "ducks in a row" so to speak, before we can close.
We were supposed to close on Friday but now it will take a few more days. I had looked in the having Matt come home for the closing but it would have cost about $500and I'm going out there next weekend. We have to have all the paperwork sent to him and then he has to have it notarized and send it back before we can actually close.
So now, I'm thinking we will be lucky if we close before I go out there next weekend.
I'm getting rather impatient so that is why I have started shopping for stuff for our house. Kohl's had a big sale this weekend and I got a really cool comforter/sheets/bed skirt/pillowcases/some more stuff set. I also got some rugs and stuff. My thinking is that if I buy this stuff a little at a time it won't hurt the ole bank account as bad.
Moral of the story: BUYING A HOUSE IS A PAIN IN THE TUSH. I know it will all be worth it though.

Kohl's carts???
The town I live in just got a Kohl's maybe a year or so ago. I waited until it was there at least six months to let the newness wear off before I ventured in there. Before last week, I had probably been there three or four times, always with a particular item in mind that I wanted to buy.
Well this weekend I went in there because I saw a flyer about a sale they had going on. I walked in the door and look around for a cart. I see these playpen looking things on wheels. I thought those must be for people with kids. I keep looking and that is all they have. Then I see people pushing these hideous looking "carts" around.
I was too embarrassed to push such a contraption around. I have been to Kohl's three times since Saturday buying miscellaneous items for our house and have yet to use one of those things.
Maybe this is a good way for me to refrain from spending too much money in one trip.

Blog Stalking
Well I've had 250 profile views now so I guess that makes me a pretty big deal... jk. I added some new blogs to follow to ease my boredom at work. So if you see me following you that is why. I only have three followers so that makes me feel a little lame. But this really isn't for anyone else anyway. It's for me.
Here are a few random things that have been going on:
The house thing is still not final. We were supposed to close on Friday. Now God only knows when that will happen.
I have become addicted to talkaboutham.com. It is the stupidest crap possibly on all of the Internet and 90% of the people that post things on there are just trying to be mean and pick fights but I read the garbage.
I'm going to Washington to see my husband next weekend and I am very ready for a break from everything. And besides I miss him.
Matt and I think we want a kid by next summer. We have names picked out. And no I'm not telling. Hehe
Grandma went home. She wants to die at home and not in some pee smelling nursing home.
I'm done with school until June 8th. I got an A on every paper I wrote. I'm not sure what I got on my final but I really don't see how I could get less than an A in the class. What can I say, I may have been born to go to school at LLC.
75 days untill Matt ETS's. And by the way, ETS is my favorite army acronym.
Still sick of my 2nd job and all the crap that goes along with it, except the extra cash.
Anywho, that's about all I've got.

Reality Check
Today I when I came back from lunch I was reading the yahoo news, as I usually do. In the last couple months I have read where soldiers have died in places that Matt was at in Iraq. Today it sunk in once again how lucky I am that nothing happened to my man while he was over there. Trust me I did plenty of worrying while he was there but sometimes I forget how lucky I am to have him home. My heart goes out to anyone that has lost friends, family, and loved ones to this war.
