Mini-Meltdown

I worry about Button, a lot.  Everyday.

Last night I had a bad dream.  I won't go into details.  I woke up crying.  Matt asked me if something hurt.  I told him no that I had a bad dream.  That was around 5:30.  I don't think I really went back to sleep.

This morning I had a mini-meltdown.  It had been 4 weeks since I had been to my doctor.  And I wasn't supposed to go back until next Friday.  I called there and talked to the nurse.  Told her what my problem was.  Cried a little.  She said to come in.

They found a heartbeat.  Every thing's fine.  Little Button was moving around a lot according to the doctor.  I cried some more.

I told the doctor I thought I felt Button move sometimes.  He said I probably did.

I also told him about Vinnie.  Vinnie likes to lay his head on my stomach when I'm sitting on the couch.  And lay on my stomach in bed.  I told him he only weighs 7 pounds.  The doctor said that it's fine for him to lay on me and he probably knows what's going on.  I thought that was cute.

I asked the nurse if I was the biggest drama queen that they have ever had to deal with.  She said, "No, far from it."  So, I guess that's good.

The doctor says that my hormones should be easier to manage soon.  It's horrible.  If I'm not crying, I'm pissed about something or someone is annoying me.  Usually Matt.  And that's not good.  I don't want to be aggravated or annoyed all the time.

Maybe that's why I haven't been posting as much.  Cause I've been a mess.  This shit is no joke.

But, most importantly Button is fine.  My next appointment is in 3.5 weeks.  Then I have a sonogram a week after that and we should be able to find out if it is a boy or a girl.

I'm going to try really hard not to worry.  I really am.  I'm guessing it's not good for me or Button.

I'm linking up with Implusive Addict and Shawn for Talk to us Tuesday again.  Yay!

Hope you all have a great week and a Happy Thanksgiving!

Back from Vacation

Last week was just what I needed.

Monday and Tuesday I lounged around, cleaned the house, took some naps, and threw some stuff away.  I always feel better when I de-clutter.

Wednesday, Matt and I had to go to his old Reserves Unit and get some paperwork.  Vinnie stayed there with his Sergeant First Class (she's been asking for a year to see him) while we went to re-enroll in DEERS and get our new ID cards.  When we got back to pick up Vinnie, he was riding on a forklift with her.  It was so cute.  He promoted from Private Pup to Sergeant First Class Pup in one day.

We also had to drop my laptop off at the Best Buy.  The port dealy where the plug in majigger goes is loose.  So sometimes when I try to charge it I have to wrap the cord around the monitor.  Hopefully, it's covered under the extended warranty that we purchased.  It's not like Vinnie got tangled up in the cord when he was just a little feller and it fell on the floor or anything.  Or maybe that did happen once.

On the way home, Matt and I went to a campground.  My dad pulled his and mom's camper up and my mom and I stayed there alone Wednesday night.  With no pups or husbands.  It was nice.  We really roughed it.  Mom brought a couple subway sammys.

Thursday evening Matt brought our camper and the pups up.  And my dad and a friend of my parents joined us on Friday.  We stayed until Sunday morning.

From Wednesday to Sunday morning, I took around 5 naps.  We also went to the beach for awhile.  Did a little hiking until I fell and busted my ass.  Ate more than we should have.  Had a few adult beverages.

All in all, it was just what I needed.

Monday, I had to come back to work.  It actually felt good to be back.

School starts next week and I already dropped one class.  Mostly because I have to use Matt's old Floppy McFlopperson computer right now.  No need to finish it all up too quickly.  I mean I'm only 30.

Thanks again to both of my wonderful guest bloggers.  And thank you all for you thoughts, prayers, good vibes, and support over the last couple of weeks.

And a big "Hello" to all of my new followers.  Leave me a comment so I can come check your blogs out too.

When life hands you lemons.....

First of all, thanks for all the birthday wishes on here and on facebook.  30 isn't so bad, so far.

Friday we headed out, in the rain, to go camping.  I may have celebrated too hard Friday night.  In my defense, one of my BFF's came and camped with us so I pretty much had to.

Saturday, we did quite a bit of laying around, napping, relaxing, and eating.

Sunday we to a Cardinals game with my mom and dad for Father's Day.  It was the first game I have been to this year.  Our seats were in the second row in lowest level in right field.  In my opinion, they were the best seats I've ever had.

It was only about 150 degrees at the game and the lack of a breeze made it very comfortable.  But we all had a good time.  Dad and Matt drank our beer vendor out of Bud Select and mom and I kept ourselves hydrated with water.  We all had a good time and the Cardinals won.

Monday morning, my car crapped out.  It wouldn't start when I turned the key and then it would try starting when the keys weren't in the ignition.  One day last week, when I turned the key to start it, the truck popped.  Uh yeah, I was confused.

Matt diagnosed the problem as the battery was junk and the cables that connect to it were corroded.  Whatever that means.  I kept giving him crap that the car was a lemon.  Its a 2000.  So obviously it will have some issues once in awhile.  Since I've been driving it we've only had to do several maintaince type things. But I can still give him crap if I want.

Matt and his buddy fixed my car last night.  The only problem is that my boom booms (subs) aren't hooked up.  It was Matt's car first and you know how men are with their accessories.  I never realized how much I liked the boom booms until I drove the car this morning.  He's supposed to get a longer bolt (or something) and hook them back up tonight.

I also wanted to let you know that I entered a giveway over at Utterly Chaotic Designs.  I'm really hoping to win since my blog is all jacked up.  Send me some good vibes and go by there and check her stuff out.  Brea is one of the most talented designers I've seen.  And her prices are very reasonable.

Hope you are all having a great week!

Tomorrow I'll be in my....

Tomorrow is my birthday.  I'll be 30 29 for the second year.
Tomorrow will be a regular day.  I have to work.  And I'll probably do some homework so that we can go scamping and to a Cardinals game this weekend.

Last weekend we went scamping at my grandma and grandpas and it was a blast.  There is so much to do there and the rates are reasonable (free).

Friday night my brother brought his camper and camped with us.  About midnight it got really windy and started raining buckets of rain.  We had to take the awning down and got soaked in the process.  So we went in the scamp and drank more.

Saturday we went on a four-wheeler ride with my brother.

Maybe I should back up a bit.  Matt bought a four-wheeler.  He's wanted one forever.  I made him sell his death trap three wheeler and he sold some other stuff.  We found a great deal on one so he bought it.  He's pretty proud of it and I think we will get a lot of use out of it.

The first time we went riding - My cousin & brother

So anyway, Saturday we went on a four-wheeler ride. Got a little sunburn.  When we got back Camp Frank (that's what we call it), we took the pups on a little ride around the yard.  They actually liked it and sat really still.  Don't worry we didn't drive fast at all.

My Matt's four-wheeler

Then Saturday afternoon my mom and dad came out to my grandparents and my dad "showed us how to cook a pork loin."  My dad is kinda OCD about cooking when we are camping.

Saturday evening my grandpa hooked his horses up to the wagon and took us on a wagon ride while we drank.  My sister and her boyfriend even made an appearance.

Sunday morning grandma cooked us breakfast and then we went home.

Since then I've been busy trying to get a little ahead in school so I can take this weekend off.

Hope you all have a great weekend!

Our New Year's Weekend

My weekend started on Wednesday evening. A co-worker from the V texted me Wednesday and said she was sick and wanted to know if I would work for her. Being the sucker I am So, I did. It was a pretty good time. I hadn't worked there in almost two weeks so it was nice to see everyone.

I had already planned on taking Thursday off and I actually got to sleep in. Matt texted me before I woke up but lucky for me, I had set my phone to alarm only. Sucker! When I woke up, I did 75% of my cleaning list and went and got groceries. At one point, I noticed it was strangely quiet. I went into the living room to see what the pups were doing. And this is what I found...

They were all being good. And this is the one and only picture I have of all of them.

Friday I cook my beer cheese soup and some meatballs. We had a small gathering Friday night. And by small I mean, 6 people showed up. 2 of which were my parents. I didn't really mind because the house was still clean and we had a ton of leftovers after the party. Which, in turn, meant that I didn't have to cook or clean the rest of the weekend. Matt was disappointed though.

Here are a few pictures for your viewing pleasure....

Our little party animals. Ozzy went home with Grandma because he's kind of grouchy around strangers.

Matt and I.

Mr. Vinnie and I

Matt and Mr. Vinnie. Even Mr. Vinnie has some beads on. Don't worry, we didn't leave them on him very long.

Today I didn't want to come to work, I must have told Matt that about 10 times on the way here. However, when I got here the HR lady gave me this:

You see, I used to get paid every Friday. The company I work for is switching to a two week pay period. So this Friday, we won't get a check. This $100 is a cash bonus to "help with the transition". I saw no fine print saying it was a cash advance. I didn't really care about the switch but a lot of people are pretty bent out of shape about it.

Hope you are all having a fantastic Monday!

All over the place

- We had my mom's side of the family's Christmas this past Saturday. A good time was had by all.

- Sunday we did close to nothing. Mom and Dad came over. Dad and Matt put up a storm door with a doggy door between the house and the attached garage. The first storm door they put up a couple months ago took them around like 6 hours to do. This one took an hour and a half. They are thinking about doing storm door installation together. But only if they can drink beer while they are hanging them.

- The pups are kind of on a diet. Before we got Miss Princess, the boys had food sitting out for them all day everyday. They run around enough that they don't get fat. They both actually got moistened puppy food in the mornings to help keep weight on them. Miss Princess took advantage of having food sitting out all day. She has gotten a little chunky. She even needs help getting on the couch. So now the pups all get breakfast, moistened puppy food for the boys and moistened adult food for Miss Princess. And then they get dinner in the evenings. Everyone seems to be adjusting well.

- Yesterday was my daddy's birthday. He turned 32 for the 19th time.

- I got my grades the other day. I got all A's again this semester so I still have a 4.0. Matt did very well in his classes too.

- I don't have all my Christmas shopping done. I still need to get two gift cards and a gift for Matt's brother.

- I have a ton of other errands to run before Christmas too. Hair tonight. Eye appointments tomorrow. Miss Princess has to get her hair done Thursday. Need to get to the grocery store. Blah blah blah.

- I need a good cheese ball recipe. Soon. One without 5,000 ingredients that I don't know what the hell they even are have. Please help.

- We still have 5 Christmas gatherings to attend. The good news is that I'm pretty sure I have Matt talked into running away next Christmas. We're thinking Texas.

- I'm not sure if I'll blog again before Christmas. Hope you all have a very Merry Christmas and that Santa finds you all!

My husband... the hunter

Deer hunting is a big thing around here. Most guys do it. It's a time for going to a cabin, waking up at the ass crack of dawn, freezing in a tree stand all day, maybe killing something, drinking a bunch of beer, scratching of themselves, gossiping like women, and doing it all over again the next day.

This year is the first year since before he was in the Army that Matt will be able to go deer hunting. I don't mind him being gone to go. Maybe I'll be able to get the house cleaned. Maybe I'll be able to throw some stuff away.

I just hope he doesn't kill one. We don't have enough room in the freezer for this deer meat he speaks of. We are going to buy a new fridge this spring for the house and move the house one to the garage. But, I wanted to wait until the spring to do this. Our savings account needs a break. I don't want to buy a small freezer either.

I do NOT eat deer meat. And I'm not knocking anyone that does. It's just not for me.

** Side story ** Once when I was just a wee little girl. Maybe 10 or so. My daddy made some meatloaf. He kept making comments about how good it was. We were all eating and someone found a hair in it. Then mom bit into a piece of a bullet. I believe some curse words escaped her mouth. Something along the lines of what the hell is this. He fessed up that it was deer burger. Since then, no deer meat for this girl.

So, if he kills a deer, guess who he thinks is going to be cooking deer burger and deer chops. Yeah, me. Uhhhh.... no.

So, I believe I'm going to pray that he forgets about the deer while he's hunting and sticks to the beer because in the long run an extra case of beer over the weekend will be cheaper and less smelly. Do you know how bad deer meat smells when it is being dehydrated into jerky. I do. It's horrible.

** Side note ** Did you know that he has to get a FOID (Firearms owners identification or something) card just to have a gun? Wouldn't you think a military ID would be sufficient? I don't know if this is an Illinois thing or a national thing. But I do know that Illinois gun laws are super strict.

Just because....

I've been down in the dumps the last two days.

He's sweet sometimes. When no one else understands, he does. And when he doesn't, he does things to make me happy. I wouldn't trade him for the world.

Have a good weekend!

9/30/2010

Well let's see....

This is going to be another random post because that's all that my brain can put together right now.
  • The Cardinals aren't going to the playoffs. I've just now came to terms with that. I'm disappointed to say the least.
  • Matt and I have both been extremely busy with school. He has class on Monday and Wednesday nights until 11. I have class on Thursday nights until 9. So basically we get to see each other in the mornings, Tuesday nights, and the weekend. I'm not trying to complain too much, just saying.
  • Trash night is Wednesday nights, I've been on trash duty. But I forgot last night.
  • All the pups are fine. Princess was in some pain Friday night but was better Saturday. Vinnie came home Saturday morning, hit the ground running, and hasn't slowed down since.
  • Last night Princess was even playing with the boys. She acts like she doesn't like them but deep down I think she does.
  • Just FYI, I have the best dad ever. He's been over three times in the last week working on doing the electric in the garage. My brother has been helping also. He's pretty awesome too.
  • Matt was put in charge of digging between the garage and house to bury the electric line. I called JULIE on Friday to locate where all the lines were. They said they would be there by Tuesday afternoon to check. I failed to tell Matt. He started digging on Saturday and didn't tell me until he came in and asked if the internet was working. It wasn't. He said, "Uht oh." I was like, "What the f-bomb did you do." He said he thought he cut the internet line in half. Yep. Sure enough. But he sliced it back together. And cut his finger in the process. I called him Tim the tool man and made him put his shovel away.
Hope you are all having a great week!

Too funny not to share

I was going through my old email inbox the other day and found something that is just too funny not to share. I hope no one gets uptight or bent out of shape about it.

This email is from when Matt was in Iraq. I've gotten his permission to post this. First his mom sends him an email and asks him some questions.

Here those are:

Matthew, several people have asked about you. *** said she would show me how to forward to all the relatives if you sent a general letter of information about yourself.
do you live in a tent or barracks?
how many people live with you?
do you go to a separate place to eat?
can you watch TV, movies, exercise.........
what is the weather like? land, hills, trees, etc...
do you see any local people, families with kids?
what is your job?

Here is his response (complete with spelling and grammatical errors):

no no i work 12 hour days from noon to midnight so its the hottest part of the day really SUCKS!!! i live with one other guy in a thing called a cheu dont ask what that stands for probly "dog house" or " shit box" in iraqy but they have AC so i cant bitch too much. since we work during chow hours we have to go plates brought to us its not always the cleanest meal but it all makes a turd!! i bought a small tv for $10 fron the unit that we replaced so i just watch DVD's it helps put you to sleep. when we were on the 8 hour days i would go to the gym for 2 hours before work but hell sleep sounds a lot better for now. i mean i have 13 months left no need to get all in shape at one time. i think guys that work for us are from some were in iraq but no clue. hell no there are no kids here i hope these F@#$! dont reproduce. they look retarded and smell funny. but they have super cheep movies that come out before they do in the states and smoke for $2 a pack so thats the only good that comes from them. Oh and they clean our shitters. now thats a shitty job.. well hey i have to get back to the FARP that stands for fuel ammo reissueing points. we refuel and reload the hellacopters with 8 rockets and 1 or 2 hellfires. in laymens terms thats a lot of boom boom. just one hellfire cost $70,000. just the camara on top of the bird cost a mill. i think they said it was more than the hellacopter. but hey i need to get to bed so i can wilt away in this place we call the devils asshole. that would be hoter and stinker than hell so good night or good morning what ever time it is there. anymore i dont even know what day it is but hey that could be a good thing i guess. but i should be home for 18 days the end of march and part of april. so i can be with the one i miss the most. later

Spc. *****

Cracks me up every time I read it. Not because of the situation but because of the way he answers the questions. Again, if you are offended, I apologize. Just wanted to share.

Deployment Survivor

My bloggy buddy Amber at Goodnight moon has this great idea to do a link up for survivors of having their spouse deployed.

Matt and I had been friends forever before we started dating. When we first started talking, I knew that he was going to be deploying within the next year. Mentally I had to make a decision if I was prepared to handle it before we even started dating. Of course I decided he was worth it. Before he deployed, I took a leave of absence from work and drove out to Seattle from IL and stayed with him for six weeks. We had a great time and did lots of fun things in those six weeks.

D-day June 2007

He left at noon on June 10th. I'll never forget those buses that took him away. After he left, I had to pull myself together to drive back to IL. When I got back I worked at my office job and also a shit job. I worked between 50-70 hours a week. I paid off all my bills. I sent Matt care packages at least every other week. According to whoever check his mail, he got the best care packages of anyone in his unit.

His R & R was in November and we got engaged. R & R was bittersweet. We had a great time together but I knew I had to say good-bye again. By this time, he had already lost one of his best friends.

After R & R, he had another 10 months of deployment left. He was deployed for a total of 14 and a half months. We missed every holiday while he was deployed, some twice.

We didn't have the best communication while he was deployed. He emailed me most days but rarely called. He would go to an outpost that didn't have phones or internet for 3-4 weeks at a time. He did this 3 or 4 times. So that's 9-16 weeks where we had zero communication. There was no Skype. If there was we didn't know about it. We did do yahoo messaging with webcams but it would always disconnect and one of us would get fed up with it.

I like to think while he was deployed I was strong. Yeah, I'd lose it sometimes. I was grouchy at my shit job but hey it was a shitty job. I didn't whine about him being gone or complain about all the things we were missing. I might have thought it but I didn't whine about it. I held my head up high and tried to remember that most people couldn't do it.

The day he came home was the best day of my life. It was better than our wedding. Words can not describe the feeling of knowing he was safe, I was back in his arms, and that we had done it.

Homecoming August 2008

I've been thinking a lot about those who will never get to experience this feeling. The family of his friend that died and wives who lost their husbands will never know how great this felt. It breaks my heart.

We got married two weeks after the deployment was over. In some ways I'm thankful that we got to go through this. It's made us closer. And he understands that I will always be there for him.

Back to School

Before I get into our vacation, I would like to backtrack a little bit. Last Monday was the first day of the semester at our local community college. Matt and I are both going this semester.

Illinois has an Illinois Veterans Grant that will pay for all of Matt's classes. His GI Bill will pay us a certain amount depending on the amount of credit hours he takes. Cash money. This semester he is taking two classes. They are both mod classes that only meet half a semester. I believe he has a total of 8 or 9 credit hours this semester.

Matt is in enrolled in the HVAC (Heating, Ventalation, Air Conditioning) tech program. My husband is smart. He's way smarter than me when it comes to common sense stuff. However, sometimes he has the attention span of a fly. He's never really liked school.

Last Monday, Matt and I drove up to the campus and picked up our books. Matt also had to get his picture taken for his student ID.

Notice the guy looking at me like, WTF is she doing.

After we picked up our books and stuff, we had about 45 minutes to kill before his class started. He took me on a nice romantic dinner to McDonald's. While we were at McDonald's, he was cracking me up. He was saying if he had to introduce himself he was going to say, "My name's Matt. I work full-time. It's my nap time right now." He also told me that he was afraid the "little kids" in his class would want him to buy them beer after class.

After our "date" we went back to campus and I walked him to his classroom.

And like most of your kids, he didn't seem to care that I was leaving him there. He was only there for about 5 minutes before he texted me and told me he hated school and me. He was joking. I hope.

He came home a little bent out of shape because the class he is taking now is a blueprint reading class. The first night he came home with a whole list of crap he needed (protractor, about 7 kinds of pencil lead, 3 different rulers, ect.) He also had to do around 100 math problems. The teacher gave them time to work on it in class. It was all multiplying and dividing fractions. I can do this but if I had to do it without a calculator I would come home pissed too. He was upset because it was past his bedtime. (His class is from 6 to 10:15 and then its about a 45 minute drive to our house.) I felt bad for him but the next day I checked all the problems he did in class and he had about 90% of them right.

Each time he goes, he feels a little more confident. He says most of the people in his class are dumbasses and "don't even have f@#$#@ing jobs". He got all his problems except one right on his first homework. And he had a pop quiz last night and said he thought he did good.

I'm not going to tell you all how proud of him I am because it embarrasses him but I am.

My classes this semester, well one of them, sucks bad. But, I'm going to keep my chin up and set a good example for my hubby. So during our vacation, we were both dealing with going to school too.

Little of this and little of that

* Thank you all so much for your kind words and positive comments on my last blog. I've gotten back on the wagon and I'm almost back to pre-funnel cake weight.

* Matt had drill this past weekend so, I worked. Nothing too exciting.

* School starts back up next week. I'm taking two classes next semester. And I'm still hanging on to my 4.0. Monday I meet with the honor's program lady. I have to take an honors class this semester in order to stay in the program.

* Matt starts school this semester too. I'm so proud of him for going. I know he will do well.

* I love finding stuff out via facebook. (total sarcasm)

* 5 more working days until we are on vacation. One of our friends that Matt was in the Army with is ETSing and is coming to hang with us for a week. We are so excited to see him and show him a good time.

* I have a guest blogger lined up for while I'm gone and let me just say, you are all in for a treat. I am willing to have another, if any one is interested please let me know.

* Matt's leaving for the weekend. He's going with his parents to some sort of tractor pull all weekend. Unfortunately (more sarcasm), I requested have to work.

* I'm expecting four packages in the mail right now. Getting good stuff in the mail makes my day.

* That's about all I have today. Hope everyone is having a great week!

Don't Jack Me Around

When we bought a house, I had to find one that either had a big garage or had room to build a big garage. Our house has a one car attached garage. We've been planning on building a two-car detached garage since we bought the house.

The garage building process was supposed to be finished by now. We were going to have a friend of my brother do the concrete work. (He owns a concrete business) Then get a bunch of people together to build from a kit we could buy. And then have my brother do the electrical work and my dad do the plumbing.

Well, concrete guy has been jacking us around all summer long. At first he said he would come do it at the end of June. I understand it rained pretty much the whole month of June. I talked to him around the beginning of July and he said he could be there in two weeks. Three weeks later I called him back and asked when he was coming. He then said he would be there that Friday to mark it off and remove the existing concrete slab. He never showed up or called. I tried calling him two or three times after that and he never returned my call.

So, I made Matt call him and fire him. We hired a company that will pour the concrete and then two weeks later come and build the garage in one day. It's going to cost us about 35% more to have them do it but we Matt is becoming impatient.

They are supposed to be coming Thursday to do the concrete. So that means by the end of the month we may have an actual garage. Like one I can send Matt to when he gets on my nerves. One that can become his play area. One that all his toys that are in my garage can go to. One that.... oh the possibilities.

Matt wants a urinal (and a toilet) in this garage. Gross. How would you feel about a urinal if there is a chance you would have to clean it? And why do guys like urinals so much? Or is it just Matt?

All the extras of the garage are going to wait until the spring since we'll be spending way more than we planned on. Until then it's going to be a garage with a couple light bulbs.

I'll take some before and after pictures.

Why's it have to be so hot?

Yesterday my boss took myself and the department I spend about half my time working for to the Cardinals vs. Phillies game. This is where are seats were. These are by far the best seats I have ever had at a game, as far as the view goes.

It was so freaking hot yesterday. Not just the itshotandimuncomfortable type of heat. It was like the itssohotthatmybeeriswarmbeforeigetbacktomyseatandimmiserableandsweating likeamoose kind of heat. At one point, I think I could feel my brain boiling. I had to make the switch to water around the third inning. Our seats were in the direct sun all day. At one point, the scoreboard said it was 100 degrees. I'm guessing this was minus the head index and minus the fact that it was exceptionally humidy. And we lost.

The boss took us out to eat on the way home and dinner was good, I think. My brain was still fried at that point.

While I was gone yesterday, the boys had to get their haircut. I brought them to my mom's yesterday morning and she took them to the groomer in the afternoon. Then she brought them back to her house so they could run around the yard and play for awhile. She brought them home around 7 last night. And I got home shortly after that. They were tired last night and Vinnie almost slept all night. Don't they look adorable?

Thanks for taking care of our boys yesterday mom! We all love you.

And I'm not going to lie anymore, I miss Matt. I work tonight so at least I'll get a little bit of human interaction.

Hope you all have a great weekend! I'll be busy working, cuddling with the pups, and finishing my mission list.

Busy, busy

It's been a couple days since I've wrote anything so I thought I'd give you all an update. I've been busy. Like real busy. Matt left Friday for his two week AT. So, instead of sitting around pissing and moaning about how much I miss him, I've been doing stuff.

The boys miss him like crazy. The first night, I don't think they slept at all. They were constantly barking and getting up and wondering around. Yeah, I miss him but I actually haven't had time to miss him that much. Besides, 13 days apart is nothing compared to 438.

Here's what I've got done since Friday after work:

Cleaned both ceiling fans
Dusted
Cleaned out my cedar chest - I threw a bunch of crap away, which always makes me feel good.
Cleaned the stove top really good
Scrubbed the shower at 2 in the morning
Changed the pool filter and added chlorine
Pulled weeds and watered bushes - and then it rained
Got my oil changed
Took cans in to be recycled
Bought and changed the handles on the laundry room cabinets
Cleaned the office and threw some stuff away
Straightened up the hall closet
Scrubbed the front door
Washed sheets and blankets
Cleaned window sills
Cleaned kitchen closet
Cleaned laundry hamper
Cleaned all mirrors
Cleaned kitchen chairs
Cleaned all TVs
A ton of homework - I want to be done with my online class before he gets back.
Washed Matt's nasty jeans that have been in the garage for months
I also worked two shifts at the bar over the weekend.

Here's whats still on my list to do:

Scrub the green shit off the patio furniture
Clean all baseboards
Clean all hardwood floors
Clean cabinets inside and out - I'm about half done with this.
Clean fridge inside and out
Get rings cleaned and inspected
Buy, paint, and hang sconces
Go shopping (hehe)
Vacuum
Clean both bathrooms
Wash bed skirt
Clean spare bedroom
Straighten up bathroom closet
Buy green pillows
Clean leather furniture
Patio doors
Clean off deck
Clean camper
Wash all rugs
Attempt to clean garage

Today Matt has been gone....4 days. I need to pace myself or I'm going to run out of stuff to do. ;) Last night I put the trash out. This morning it was still there. I put it out a day early. I guess that's better than a day late.

Hope you are all having a great week!

IV sedation rocks my world

Friday I had an appointment to get two teeth extracted at 1:00 p.m. Since I'm such a wuss I wanted to be knocked out cold. My daddy took me. He also took me when I got my wisdom teeth cut out five years ago. My mom showed up and her and dad both sat with me while I was heavily under the influence of drugs.

I was given laughing gas and then the nurse poked me about fifteen times before she gave up on finding a vein. The doctor ended up sticking me with a needle to get the IV in. I told mom and dad to quit looking at me and laughed hysterically. Mom asked me where I wanted to pick up my prescriptions at and I laughed hysterically. I told her, "What's it matter? They are giving me drugs." She said they needed to know where to call it into. I laughed some more and told her Walgreens was "slow as f!@#$." Mom had to leave to go back to work and then my dad kept asking me stupid stuff just to make me laugh. I can't remember exactly what though.

I woke up once during the process and told them the left side of my face was numb. The nurse said it was from the shot. I asked how the IV knew to make the left side of my face numb. She said, no that they had given me a shot in the face. That made more sense. Everything was really confusing while I was drugged up.

When I was finally able to leave, Matt took me by the ice cream shop because I had not eaten all day and I was starving. I got a peanut butter milk shake and ate it with a spoon. When we were on our way home, he looked over at me and started laughing. I was like, "What are you laughing at." He said, "You have that shit all over yourself." I looked in the mirror and it was running down not only my chin, but also my neck.

When we got home, I took a nap with the pups. I think they know when I don't feel good because they behave a lot better. Matt made me some mashed potatoes when I woke up.

The rest of the weekend is kind of a blur. I've kept my pain killers close by. Yesterday my parents came over and dad and Matt played in the yard and fixed some stuff on the house. Today, my mouth hardly hurts at all.

Hope you all had a great weekend!

Long weekend together

This weekend the hubby and I had a four day weekend. It was also the first weekend that we didn't have any real plans since before summer started. Sometimes those are the best, in my opinion.

Friday night I worked at the VFW. Matt came in and helped fry fish for the fish fry. He enjoyed it. He enjoys hanging out with all the old vets that also help with the dinners. There is one old guy in particular that we both really like. His name is Clem. He's a sweet old guy, but bless his heart, he can't remember shit. He's the first to admit it though. Matt and I always tell him its okay and that his mind is probably in better shape than either of ours. He and Matt always have a beer together after the meetings or the dinners.

After I got off work Friday night, a couple that is friends of ours came over and had a few beers on the deck with us. Nothing crazy though.

Saturday morning Dish Network came and set us up. We had Direct TV for the last year. But long story short, they pissed me off about two hours into us having their service. We have been planning on switching since then and finally decided to do it.

I also did some homework Saturday and then Matt and I went shopping. We got him some shorts and what not. You know how when you were little and tried on new clothes your mom wiggled your pants around and made you turn around and stuff? No? Surely that wasn't just me. Well anyways I do that to Matt. He thinks I'm nuts.

Then, Saturday night we just stayed home and chilled with the pups. I made some dinner.

Sunday morning, well at noon, I worked at the VFW. It was a pretty slow day there. After work, the same couple that was over Friday night came over and we grilled out, played cards, and drank on the deck until the wee hours of the morning. This couple knows one of the city cops that was on duty and he came over and provided some entertainment for us. Not like in a stripper kind of way but more like in a Barney Fife kind of way.

Yesterday, I actually didn't feel too bad and managed to get some homework done and lay out in the pool for a couple hours. I'm starting to get a decent tan this year.

Today it's back to work for the hubby and I. While sitting here this morning, I realized that Matt and I have finally been able to celebrate every birthday, holiday, and anniversary together at least once, after 4 years of being together.

Happy Monday Tuesday! Hope you all had a great weekend!

It's my Birthday...

This is what sucks about being a grown-up. Yes it is my birthday and guess where I am. Work. Stuck in my cube. For 8 long hours. I should have took the day off.

I hate when my birthday is smack dab in the middle of the week. I haven't got pumped about it this year. I'm 29.

Matt is taking me out to eat tonight and the pups promised they would be good all day and night. Besides that it's just another day. We might build a fire in the yard and have some friends over Friday night. And Saturday night we are going to my parents for dinner.

I'm just glad to have Matt home with me. I don't need much else.
